Btw back to hitches, it seems that the average is 2" balls. Who's got bigger? I wanted to swap mine out but my female receiver is too small. It was probably made in Japan.

You do know that if you own a later model Airstream you need a bigger ball?
Gawd, i've waited YEARS to use that line!!!

Didnt read thru the whole thread yet, but does anyone have an opinion on if its better to have the Levelers down for stability, or leave them up for the "cushioning" effect??
On my 345 motorhome, the whole bedroom hangs out a long way behind the rear axle.... Not tested it yet, but inquiring minds need to know!

Ziggie - If such innocuous humor upsets you, if you can't see the connection to Airstreams and Airstreaming folks, why don't you just hit the ignore key and quit putting yourself on that slippery 'high ground' claiming you didn't / don't open the thread?

Ball size...
So are you saying if you own a later model you talk like Leon Redbone sings, and if you own an older one you sound like you have been breathing helium?

My understanding is that you may have to replace your axles for the appropriate lift over the wheel wells. Axles with the arm at a downward angle indicate they are old and need to be replaced, as they may be too stiff for comfortable ride. That may be also be applicable to the amount of flex if the trailer is in a stable / parked position. Not sure if that would apply to a MH though. Your axles are completely different, and connected to a drivetrain. I would expect that bad shocks in a trailer or MH that uses springs could produce an uncontrolled bouncing effect on uneven terrain - but could not evaluate that if the vehicle were parked. I guess the greater weight in a MH would require a higher force of momentum based on the mass of the MH compared to a light trailer. Meaning, with bad shocks and good springs, you could bounce a trailer much easier than a MH. Maybe try jumping jacks in the back and see how bad it gets?

Oscillating vibration is always about (frequency x force). I am not an engineer so I can't put numbers to the formula but any extended protrusions will accentuate the deflection.

Don't own a motorhome, but I think it is dependant upon the energy of the "driver." If you leave the levelers up, you might be able to pump once....then coast for two.

I've had BFs who tried to run the entire relationship like that.

Oh, I am giving him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he accidentally dropped his "hitch" on the keyboard.

Why is it that the mods let these goofy threads go on forever, yet they close firearm/second amendment threads at the drop of a hat?

Hey Jim (zigzagguzzi):
When we joined the Airstream Community, we felt like complete outsiders, but the unit we joined welcomed us with open arms. Most of our members are in their 70's and beyond. However the information I/we've garnered over the years far exceeds (someone's) their perceived perversions. I really hate it for you that you are basing your opinion on a few threads, and have never really enjoyed the true benefits of belonging to a group who have something in common (Airstreams) or attended a few rallies (we've spent endless nights sitting around a table playing a somewhat popular game among 'streamers - Jokers, no ETOH involved)! In fact my knowledge base has been increased more than tenfold relative to upkeep, maintaining, etc on the trailer. This "perverted" thread as you view it, is just an outlet for pent up frustrations, and most if not all is just stated in jest and, with the winter months, and not being able to go out and enjoy your Airstream, most adults have accepted the fact that intercourse (look up the actual definition) in this nature is natural. As others have suggested, either ignore the thread, or get out there, get involved, and accept the fact that not everyone is afraid to voice their concerns or opinions, and if all this offends you...., then maybe you need to expand your knowledge in the carnal sense or realize they are just amusing euphemisms, to understand all that has been stated is just to humor each other. Perhaps it is b/c I am in the medical profession, but I've raised my children that all is natural, and open for discussion, including but not limited to unwanted pregnancy, drug abuse, prevention etc. Putting a light twist on it, well it just lightens the situation. Go out and enjoy yourself, your Airstream, and embrace the knowledge and friends you meet along the way.
Terry.

Because the gun threads make people angry while this thread makes people laugh.
