I just noticed at the bottom of the page how many currently active users are viewing this thread. Never seen that many before: 34. There are also 13 guests. It'll be interesting to note how many new members join the airforums.

Happily married for over 15 years myself, there was the wonder of whether or not an airstream would qualify as a "chick magnet" and get me in trouble. My 64 isn't polished yet, but I did notice many people looking and smiling, and even waving when I took her out for the first trip. However... they were all of the old hen variety than "chick".

What did you think we did once we'd gotten all riled . . . again.

And don't forget tires: No end of studs and nut-tightening, rubber compounds, stiffness and all with a product from which we've demanded perfect reliability. Whether we like it fast or slow, got to keep them pressured according to technique. Temperature checks with the palms of ones hands when ridden hard, metal rings added for balance, caps to keep the valve shut, it just goes on and on.

An entire sub-text happenin' in those threads.

Then there's those theads about WBCCI. While I've never been to a rally, I did wonder why Tire Safety seminars were invitation-only . . no wonder the Old Guard won't let go.

There are euphamistic references here that I think even at 40 I am way too young to understand. Considering this thread, and the amount of white hair showing in the reflections of shiny trailers, I think most airstreamers are just a bunch of dirty old men? ;P

It seems that everything is a just bit better when in an Airstream.

As long as this thread has gone to tents, I thought I would show you our friend David Sabalino from Marina California, flying an REI tent the same way we fly our four line sport kites. David is a well known kite maker/flier, but he most enjoys kite buggies.
Check out the video here:

zlee, as they say, snow on the in the furnace!

Fly: You've got me rofl! When my wife & I got hitched (26+ years ago), we took a three week primitive camping trip in a ford ranger w/ a shell, and a two man tent. One day we spent too much time playing, and set up the tent at night, the scenario was pretty much depicted in the video clip, except it was pretty windy, and before we knew it, it was rolling away at quite a clip, us chasing it like two fools. Thanks for the blast from the past.
Terry, I thought you were going to say you got the tent rolling away while playing inside - hence the purchase of the Airstream!

The Forums NEEDED this little bit of humor. I hope this thread breaks all the posting records, both in numbers and its lifetime.

I love that old time rock & roll.
