PArk Rangers
Camping reminds me of Park Rangers.
On our honeymoon, wife and I camped out with her sister/B-in-law. B-in-law and I drug a ton of driftwood up to the campsite. Started a "little" fire in the pit. After a few beverages, we had a blaze going. Had to put sunscreen on to portect our skin!
Well, Ranger came over and told us he thought we had a large enough fire and to not put any more wood on. The darn thing was still going in the morning.

Sounds like you kept warm and toasty, despite the Ranger's concerns!..are you coming to the 29 Palms?..there won't be any campfire pits there, but you could bring a portable one and let those embers burn to your heart's content..and don't forget your sunscreen!
