I was engaged to a Norwegian years ago that would add Lutefisk to that and call it a banquet! If I saw a bucket of Lutefisk marinating in the garage, I would flee. FLEE I tell you!!!!!!
We used to have an old Scandinavian TV Commercial here where someone says "Hey, this tastes really good," and the Norwegian women would reply, "Well, we can fix that!!!"

Luftstrom! Das ist ja gut! (Fast so gut wie die englischen Uebersetzungen in den alten Pfilzerbriefen, zB Munich Four Sweep Four Colored fuer Muenchener Verkehrsverbund!)

In germany we have the saying that someone who is very clever is "schwer auf draht" and once our english teacher in school translated it into english and said to a class mate that she was "heavy on wire" which was very funny, but the teacher believed it to be correct.

Sounds good to me! When I was a kid growing up on the farm, Potato pancakes cooked on the top of Ma's woodstove were the absolute best!!!!
