you know - I was going after "Ode to Joy", but I couldn't find it WITH AN ARTIST...
I was looking for
Ode to Joy - Wiener Philharmoniker
or
Ode to Joy - New York Symphony Orchestra
But I couldn't find what I was looking for - which was just a little more specific:

Song: Artist: Conductor:
Ode to Joy - Wiener Philharmoniker / Willi Boskovsky / (record label) / (Publication date)

So it appears that the Wiener Philharmoniker never recorded Ode to Joy while being conducted by Willi Boskovsky - which is why I went with the Creed post instead - even though I could have used a different artist.

So now, Aage, my big question is:
Is the composer acceptable under the rules of the game, in place of the performing artist?

I noticed in an earlier post (before I started playing) rebelstand posted "You are my sunshine - Jimmie Davis"

this one, by most being considered not only the original artist, but also the original songwriter.

So - it seems that there's no reason not to post the same song as done by different artists - BUT...
Can we substitute artist for composer/songwriter?
The rules, once again, say:

It must be a track not the title of an album and you must not use the same artist in consecutive posts.
Not "the next song title and composer"

<sigh>
Am I being too much of a stickler here? I don't want to ruin it for everyone and have people get tired of playing - but... I am pretty "rules oriented" - except when it comes to myself - I don't much care to "play by the rules" much - except in a game - which is what this is...
I life...?
Well...
Aren't rules meant for interpretation? Or - "bending"?

So, you have to read all 505 pages to see if your idea has already been posted?

No, I'm sure that's not the case. Let's just play and have fun. I think I was a little stressed and overworked yesterday. Too much coffee, and too close of a deadline. Sorry for my intrusion in a fun game - I'll get off my soapbox and have some fun now...

Bad to the bone - George Thorogood and the Destroyers

Album: Bad to the bone
Label: EMI
Released: 1982

Maybe I should stop posting release dates - makes me feel old, because I used to listen to those when I was a teenager...
And I still do - so maybe I'm still a teenager???
