It's SO HOT here that last night there were seven raccoons skinnydipping in the river. I went out and grabbed their coats where they'd hung 'em and got $5.75 each for them down at the trading post. Now my wife felt sorry for them so she made each one a pair of jeans and a cotton shirt for summer.
It's so hot here that when it rains, it turns immediately to steam. I took the hood off the truck and put a funnel in the carbureator, and I'm running the truck for free on steam!
It's expected here in the desert this time of year but it's a DRYYYYY heat, I keep hearing. It's so hot that........
Our local news reported 121 *F taken approx. 10' up from street level. The meterologost has what he calls a "carmometer" which he reported topped off at 141 *F today.
On the flip side...It's been so cold in New Brunswick, Canada (borders Maine) when normal seasonal temps. arrived this week with abnormal humidity levels......the price of gas increased. DUH! The passport issue is not enough?
In truth this has been an extra cool summer here in Northern NY. We've had a few days here and there in the 80's, perhaps one in the 90's. Mostly cool with highs in the 70's on clear days, and maybe up into the 60's on the damp days. The lawns get like hayfields, and the trees are adding growth like mad.
C'mon up and enjoy summer in St. Lawrence County, NY.
