She also was the first to call and sing happy birthday - she even beat my own mother on that front.
She had a wicked sense of humor. She was a Scottish war bride and some of the stuff she came out with would curl your toe nails you'd laugh so hard.
We miss her.

She treated me just like one of the family the first time her daughter brought me home to meet the family. This was no easy feat since I was a Vanderbilt graduate in the middle of a University of Alabama family of 10. She passed away several years ago, a victim of cancer, and is sorely missed by all of us. She was the mother-in-law that everyone should have. My mother on the other hand is a different story!

Oh, I don't mind my mother-in-law. She's one heck of a lot easier to get along with than my mom, who's a meddler supreme. Of course, I guess it makes a difference that my mother-in-law lives in Hamburg, Germany.

Particularly if ones spouse, or MIL, read the forum as well. One could have a very cold camping season, sleeping in a tent beside the trailer while the spouse and MIL sleep comfortably inside......
