I usually place the picture I want to upload in the "My Pictures" directory on my computer. Makes them easy to find. Click "Browse', then find the file in your my pitures directory. Click upload. Once the Pic uploads, click "close this window". Then click submit reply at the bottom of the page.

Here's the official explanation from Janet, one of the Mods: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f138...tml#post612569

Probably better than I can 'splain it.

Carol, Jim and/or Susan are right about attachments. If you need more help after you try it, ask more questions. If you want to post a picture from an e-mail or an article or just about anything else, you can drag it to the desktop where it'll have a name and then you can select it via the "manage attachments" window. I had trouble with this at first, but now it's easy.

Links can be done a couple of ways. I open another browser window, get whatever I want to link whether in the forum or not, and either drag the address over to the message, or copy it from that box at the top of the page with the address starting with "http…" and paste it into the message. If it's a Forum thread and it's subscribed, you can go to the list of your subscribed threads and do the same thing. The link may look strange in the message box, but usually comes out more like the links you see all the time when you "go advanced" and click to what the message looks like. The software knows what a link looks like and should convert it automatically.

I have a Mac and it may be different on them PC's.

Now, if you post a link to the same thread, will you get infinite links?

To post a link to another thread, I usually open that thread in another tab in my browser. Right click on the url in the top of the browser, copy and paste into the post you are making; Like this: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f226...tml#post910660

Just remember one thing tho, garage door openers have a finite lifetime, just like main sequence stars.

Thanks everybody, I'll have to practice those for a bit....

"Now, if you post a link to the same thread, will you get infinite links?"

I heard it is very dangerous, they breed like minks!

Take a red LED penlight, flash it around the complete circumference of your computer, it will cut the connection...

"Machina meteorologica" invented by Václav Prokop Diviš worked like a lightning rod.

One more time...

Question of the day:

What was Yul Brynner's real name and where is he from?

Yuli Borisovich Bryner, born July 11, 1920 in Vladivostock, Russia

From imdb.com

Sad part is that he died at only age 65!

"When he developed lung cancer in the mid-1980s, he left a powerful public service announcement denouncing smoking as the cause, for broadcast after his death. The cancer and its complications, after a long illness, ended his life.

Brynner was cremated and his ashes buried in a remote part of France, on the grounds of the Abbey of Saint-Michel de Bois Aubry, a short distance outside the village of Luzé. He remains one of the most fascinating, unusual and beloved stars of his time."
