For those suffering from early stages of cabin fever, go here and select Pictures, then a year to view:

We have a nice blanket of snow this morning in Northern, NY. What's it like where you are?

wet and wind blown
Had to reset all of the clocks.

Discovered the wind blew off the roof top A/C cover last night. My to do list just got longer.

-2 degrees, thin blowing powder, and gray skies. Gray skies? What the heck is going on?

We are unseasonally bright and sunny - this is usually rain season. Much to our delight we are about 34F and folks from our home town are out visiting. Back there it got 50 degrees C colder than us last night with the wind-chill. NOT that we ever rub it in.....but I did send pictures of our green lawn back there on Sunday after one fellow sent a picture of snow drifts 3' deep.

Life IS good.

This morning it's blizzard conditions in Far-Northern NY [think Quebec].
5 inches or so of snow so far, 1/4 mile visibility, and sleet to follow this afternoon.
I've spent the morning inside rather than snow plowing. I'll let the sleet and freezing rain coat the snow, then plow the whole thing. If I plow now, the driveway will be slick as a bottle after the sleet.

I plow with a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 3/4T HD with a 7.5' Boss plow. With studded tires all around, there's not too much that'll stop me.

This will be the first plowing this year. The fun begins!

About 4" of snow yesterday and today a clearing blue sky. When we are in a drought situation we always get less snow than is predicted. Supposed to be 14˚ today and –9˚ tonight.

Russian RADAR observers report an unidentified flying object over Siberia tracking from somewhere near the magnetic North Pole. The relective signature of the object shows nine small connected units in a tight formation.

More to follow as other observation posts check in...

Does anybody else prefer the cranberry sauce shaped like a can, or is it just me?

Hey, if Aluminum is good enough for the astronauts why not for the guy in the Big Red Suit (BRS). I'm just glad he's on the way. I need someone to pass the buck to on all the gifts my Airstream got that are under the tree. Smokey Bear that cat cannot take all the blame for this as his allowance is pretty tiny. Now I can print the Russian Radar info and help the 'lil feller out.

A canocranberry is much better than a canopy.

Last Christmas we were given some bottled CS that was done up by some lady who has titled herself the Cranberry Lady. Lets just say that we opened an emergency can of the real stuff within seconds of giving the bottled stuff a try. I still get the heebie jeebies when I think of that taste.

So this year will be a can of cranberry sauce with my vegetarian tofu stuffed soybean replica turkey. It makes me sleepy after I eat it
