Pinto beans

They predicted about 5" of snow here, but most of it was rain. Does that mean predicted snow is clear and unfallen snow is white? The quarter inch of snow that did fall was white, but turned into grey slush, so predicted snow that actually lays around for a while is grey (or, "gray" depending on your spelling preference).

I've always liked "grey" though I think I am in the minority. Isn't there a horse that's called a "grey" or probably a "gray". Sort of like calling a horse a "pinto" though here in the southwest it's also a bean. If I had beans yesterday, I'd be a has bean, but I had a bad meal in a Thai restaurant. Sure wish I'd had beans instead.

Yeah - just like I learned that an axe was "a-x-e". But now we're economizing and axe is not "a-x-e" but "a-x". Which I always thought was a question, anyway.

Employee became employe.

It started with the Post Office making Colo., CO, and Ariz., AZ. Alas. became AK which was an insult when I was a kid in New York. Maybe N.Y. became NY. Who made the Post Office the Department of Abbreviations? I don't know what happened to Miss., Mo., Mont., and Minn., so I never write to anyone there.

If Pennsylvania 6-5000 had been 736-5000, would a song have been named after it, I a-x?

Still raining, but it's dark, so it's black semi-predicted rain, or predicted but unfallen unfrozen snow. It doesn't rain in Colo. in December, so I must be in an alternate universe, but it's too dark to see what color (colour elsewhere) the mountains are.

Where have all the apostrophes gone….

I am in the grey camp, but not the confederate camp. Oops, I mean Confederate. Sorry.

It's snowing here in California, but since it's so warm it's falling like rain.

I've got mine. I got it from a friend, so I didn't have to know whether I lived in Colo. or CO. Maybe it was N.Y.?

Gotta stir the beans. Snowing and it's white! And I found an apostrophe.

Life is good.

Ah, but watching Jackie Robinson steal home at Ebbets Field in the early '50's, that was perfection!

We had the beans with a chile relleno dish. Barb cooks as good as Robinson stole home.
