great idea and so is moving the threads that FIT it...

looks like lots of moving into the section the last few days.

but just randomly moving 'off topic' stuff there isn't so wise.

for example THIS THREAD!!!

it didn't start as a game and some days it's NOT FUNNY!

-this thread is about tangential thinking.

-occasionally has useful info...

-sometimes technical questions even get answered...

-there are photos, good links, history and poetry...

-it's an artist's thread and involves quantum leaps in logic, thoughs and the imagination.

-lastly it is regularly used to post comments/responses/related thoughts...

that could be considered HIJACKING if place in the thread that precipitated the reply.

so, IT IS off topic sure,

BUT IT AIN'T NO GAME!!!!

put the cheese back please.

it's really easy to id a game thread but this one defies all current categories.

cheers
2air'

perhaps we need a subforum for 'sports' too...

but would the axle/tire threads go in the 'games' or 'sports' section?

and so on...
No wonder I couldn't find this highly evolved thread for a while. I never thought of it as "fun and games". It's sort of a collective James Joyce novel in the making, and through it I am about to ascend to be a higher being and will report when I get there, no doubt floating next to the electrocuted hockey player.

Time to go buy an Xmas tree…

I'm still amortizing my $400 odorless tree. This year I'm down to $100 per year. (Not so good for a tree that doesn't smell)

Can you tell which side of the loosing battle I'm on?

Speaking of Xmas trees and such, nobody has resurrected the Festavus thread yet. Wasn’t that Markdoan’s thread? Where is that guy anyway? Buried in the early snow, perhaps?

We cut ours down this weekend. $10 for the permit and a lot more for gas. We have been doing it for years and it's a lot of fun...

Richard, which makes a better tree for Xmas—Saguaro or Joshua? I like the Saguaro because you can hang all the ornaments off the little sticker thingies and it looks like they're floating. Reminds me of the '60's, although that's where RobertCross lives.

You have to pay a special tax just to buy a Christmas tree? Where's the logic in that? Oh yeah, reduced fat Jif is terrible. Oh Susan, Susan! Don’t buy this stuff again, please? Makes yer Pb&J taste weird.

A special axe, not tax.

Works at 7-11 too, also good for hijacking.

AndyR made a special request not to hijack his new thread about how many aistreams so I thought I'd not talk about axles here instead.

the new a/s theme song...AND some insight n2 posting here.

apparently, mc cartney got the idea for this while he was watching a pair of monkeys conducting business:

"i was up on a flat roof meditating and i'd see a troupe of monkeys walking along

and the male just hopped onto her back and gave her one, as they say in the vernacular...

within two or three seconds he hopped off again, and looked around as if to say,

'it wasn't me,'

and she looked around as if there had been some kind of mild disturbance but thought, huh, i must have imagined it.

and i thought, bloody hell, that puts it all into a cocked hat, that's how simple the act of procreation is,

this bloody monkey just hopping on and off.

there is an urge, they do it, and it's done with.

it's that simple."

...

cheers
