Two minnie links

2air' brought up the fact that this thread was frozen and wouldn't accept posts. I couldn't get it to work either. The post just before this one had a great number of live links copied directly from a Wikipedia webpage. I couldn't even open it in an edit window to replace it with plain text. If it hurts when you do that, Doc Groucho said, "Don't do that."

I managed to delete the offending post and get this running again. Without further delay .... quoting mistral blue's id driven post, HiHoAgRV wanted you to know:

If we're going to discuss ME, I'd like to begin with my sister company just around the corner * Messerschmitt, a German aircraft manufacturer and the last topic in the Wiki list that HiHoAgRV posted. So, Count, happy now?

Urs truly,
Mr. Zeppelinium

PS--HiHoAgRV's original post with a the links opened for me fine yesterday.

PPS--You know, you'd think that a forum that has a focus on aluminum and many aviation/pilot members, that there'd be an emoticon with goggles and a scarf whipping in the wind!

Zep, the links worked -- which surprised me since they were copy & pasted without using our linking function. And there were an awful lot of them. I don't know what other HTML or Java content might have been copied over. The sum total was probably the source of the lock-up. Back to the theme of the self moderated thread: We don' need no steenkin' moderators!

I can only imagine through my mind's eye what it must be like to be a flyboy. I think I would have liked it therefore I am.

A mistral blue wind lifting my glider effortlessly through the French countryside is where I am now.

Catch ME if you can.

mr. smoke2much: I saw your ad in the "Bolor" Supplement.

bounder: The what?

mr. smoke2much: the Bolor Supplement.

bounder: The Color Supplement.

mr.smoke2much: Yes, i'm sorry, i can't say the letter B.

bounder: C?

mr. smoke2much: Yes, that's right. It's all due to a trauma I suffered when I was a "sbool" boy. I was attacked by a bat.

bounder: A cat?

mr. smoke2much: No, a bat.

My "shedool" this week:

Monday: 0400 to 1200—continue installation of new telephone switch

Monday/Tuesday: 2200 to 0800—Swing SS7 links on old switch to new provider

Tuesday/Wednesday: 2200 to 0800—Swing SS7 links on other old switch to new provider

Wednesday/Thursday: 2200 to 0800—integrate new 1400 amp power plant with existing 2800 amp power plant. Note to self, lash tools to wrists with non-conductive materials in case dropped into rectifier due to lack of sleep.

Friday: Times undetermined—continue installation of new switch.

Friday night: Drink beer in massive quantities, if I can hold my eyes open. I think I’m going to be grumpy this week.

Ooooh, I hope it's AC, not DC. At least swith AC you have a chance. But "rectifier" sounds pretty durn ominous....

Thought some of you mid 70's vintage owners might be interested in this style guide for your next rally. All from a 1977 JC Penney's catalog.

Here's how to get your ass kicked in elementary school:

Just look at that belt. It's like a boob-job for your pants. He probably needed help just to lift it into place. The belt loops have to be three inches long. And way to pull them up to your armpits, grandpa.

Here's how to get your ass kicked in high school:

This kid looks like he's pretending to be David Soul, who is pretending to be a cop who is pretending to be a pimp that everyone knows is really an undercover cop. Who is pretending to be 15.

How to get your ass kicked in a meeting:

If you wear this suit and don't sell used cars for a living, I believe you can be fined and face serious repercussions, up to and including termination. Or imprisonment, in which case you'd be forced to wear that orange jumpsuit.

In this next one, Your Search For VALUE Ends at Penneys.

As does your search for chest hair.

And this -- Seriously. No words.

Oh wait, it turns out that there are words after all. Those words are What. The. F***. I'm guessing the snap front gives you quick access to the chest hair. The little tie must be the pull tab.

I could go on, but I'm tired, and my eyes hurt from this trip back in time. I think it's the colors. That said, I will leave you with these tasteful little numbers:

Man, that's sexy.
