Wow, Y is hard (unless we want to repeat towns). But there is Yrisarri, NM, now a ghost town located on the east side of the mountains to the southeast of the Albuquerque area.

Algodones is a cool place! At least in my opinion. But the S at the end might stand for the unfortunately named town of Swastika, changed to (New) Brilliant as it became clear that the original name was inappropriate.

But Swastika isn't much of a destination unless you're willing to shell out some pretty cash nowadays. And even then, you may find very little to indicate its existence.

Lindrith, New Mexico

Note to Lynn: Alagondones is just right next door to us here in Placitas - we get a lot of those mustangs wondering around the neighborhood, too! Hope all is well up in Angel Fire! Best... ;-)

Cool, Art and Margaret! I'll bet it's fun to watch the mustangs!

I have to admit that we've never wandered around too much up north of Cuba where Lindrith is (though my dad may have taken the family up there way too long ago to remember it). It should be on my bucket list, I guess!

But an H should probably stand for Hillsboro, NM. Down east of Caballo reservoir, Hillsboro is a kind of half ghost town (because people still live down there), the town was founded because gold was located in the area. Now there are lots and lots of visible uninhabited remains, great for photographers! Here are some links:
