Ah! Stanley is located on Hwy 41 south of Santa Fe between Galisteo and Moriarty! I love to travel that highway! It's a great way for us northern New Mexicans to head south while circumventing the whole of the Albuquerque thing.
I guess we could add, then, Yeso, NM, which is mostly just a ghost town. It's located more over in eastern New Mexico on Hwy 60 between Ft. Sumner and Vaughn. Not a whole lot left of poor ol' Yeso, though it's reported that it still has a post office. Probably not for long, though, if it's still there at all.
Even so, it's along Hwy 60. That's another of those highways that I'd like just to travel along. From one end clear to the other end. Lots of folks do the remnants of 66, of course, but 60 and 64 (which passes near my house) are the ones I want to do. Just for starters, neither 60 nor 64 has been turned into an interstate!

How about Tierra Amarilla, NM. Tierra Amarilla is a small, but old town located off Hwy 64 in north-central New Mexico near Chama. Noteworthy not only for its history, which is pretty sad at times, but also for the revolt against US rule back in the 1960s.
