How about Nageezi, NM. Located on Highway 550 near Chaco Canyon, it's mostly populated by Navajo people. Here's a shot of the trading post:

Ah, Ranchos de Taos! That's where we're thinking about moving to once we decide to leave Angel Fire. It's where Ansel Adams made his well-known photograph of the back side of the San Francisco de Asis church. Here is a more modern shot:

Would you believe Albuquerque? Home of the Balloon Fiesta (lots of pics with Airstreams on AF), but so much more, too! How about the annual Gathering of Nations, second only to the Balloon Fiesta as a tourism draw! Here's a pic:

Endicott, NY

The village is named after Henry B. Endicott, a founding member of the Endicott Johnson Corporation shoe manufacturing company, who founded the community as the "'Home of the Square Deal'".

South Hero, VT

Located on Grand Isle, one of a chain of road accessable islands in Lake Champlain, South Hero is a village of apple orchards and vacation homes. South Hero is on US Rt. 2 ,close to Burlington, VT and Plattsburg, NY. It is accessable both by free bridges and 24/7/365 toll ferry.

Harry Barber's Miniature Castles (1920s-66)

Throughout South Hero, Vermont USA • For over thirty years, gardener Harry Barber found a unique way to blend his native country of Switzerland with his new home in Vermont. He created miniature buildings from local Vermont field stone. Five castles, three houses, and several garden structures remain in the Islands. They vary in complexity. Some castles feature glazed windows, interior fireplaces, or dungeons. Others are wired for electricity and have the capability of running water in the moat. … All his creations are privately owned, and public access is not permitted; however four out of the five castles can be seen from the road. – From a brochure issued by the Lake Champlain Bikeways.

Apple Island Resort is a nice spot to stay while visiting: Apple Island RV Resort | South Hero, Vermont

Wow, a lot of "a" listings! Ok, Arroyo Hondo, NM. Arroyo Honda is located just north of Taos and Taos Pueblo land. It's fairly well known historically for the old John Dunn Bridge. Back in the 19th century, the Rio Grande gorge presented a very major impediment to travel east-west in this region (and still does to some degree). Enterprising John Dunn of Taos discovered that he could make it down to the river at the bottom of the gorge by following an arroyo that leads off at present-day Arroyo Hondo. He built a wooden bridge at the bottom and charged folks to cross.

Of course, the old wooden bridge was washed away on any number of occasions by yearly snowmelt driven floods down the river. It was replaced with a steel/iron bridge in the early 20th century, well before the bridge over the top of the gorge was built later on. But the John Dunn steel/iron bridge is still there and usable as long as you don't mind following the gravel road down the arroyo to get there.

Oh, and there are some natural hot springs down there!

Here's a shot of the river at the bottom of the arroyo near the bridge:
