My experience in Ontario back in the '70's was that the natives have compound eyes facing all directions to spot the OPP's so they could drive fast on the QEW. To the uninitiated: Ontario Provincial Police and the Queen Elizabeth Way, an expressway to Toronto from western NY.

I've noticed in recent years, Canadians, truckers included, from Manitoba and west, drive pretty close to the speed limits and the limits are lower than in the states. There are few cops, so I observe Colorado speed limits when I'm in western Canada. Some provinces and Yukon Terr. ban radar detectors, and some will prohibit even owning them, so check the laws before going north.

There's a country north of the US? I didn't know that. You'd think the US newspapers and TV would mention Kanada (is that how you spell it?) sometimes if it's really there. I thought that was Minnesota up there. It's cold too.

I just noticed today my jar of peanut butter came from Cannita. I guess it's warm enough to grow peanuts in Canota.

Is Nelson Eddy still the king of Kanida? Is Jeanette McDonald queen? Is Indian Love Call the national anthem?

I can't wait to learn more about this mysterious place. Thanks to Brokaw for educating us. I hope the natives aren't dangerous.

(Kanada, Cannita, Canito) beat the pants off USA Hockey team and won the gold medal in Olympics.

Canada owns hockey and we are the best country in the world. Gee, is my post-Olympic high showing?

Here is an old definition of Canada that may help explain a few things:

Canada started out as an experiment to combine the best qualities of French culture, English government and American technology.

But somehow we wound up with a French government, English technology and American culture.

I'm trying to figure out just what kind of government we have. I think I'd take Canadian government.

Canadians speak "The Queen's English."

Americans speak "Simplified English."

American dictionaries have 1,500 - 2,000 fewer words than Canadian or British dictionaries.

That is all!

To find a Canadian in a crowded room, step on EVERONE'S foot.
The one that says, "Oh, pardon me!" is the Canadian.

So polite, eh?

If you can stand to laugh until you heave, watch the "Royal Pudding" episodeof the Comedy Central TV series "South Park". It's a nutty spoof of the recent British royal wedding, set in Canada. Hilarious!
