I think I would feel slightly less burrito like in bear country, than I would in one of those one man nylon tents. Maybe more canned tuna like.

At age 14 I traveled with my parents pulling an 18' SOB from northern NY to the Seattle World's Fair and back.

Upon returning I was so enamoured with the idea of going West again, I had a classmate and fellow Boy Scout talked into biking out with me the following summer.

We planned to parallel conjoin 2 bikes to make a "pick-up truck" to haul our gear.

Needless to say, cooler heads (read: parents) prevailed and it never happened.

These aren't the droids you're looking for.
