Thumbs up

Thanx everyone for making this weekend such a special event. It was a great pleasure meeting everyone and spending some quality time together.
Blanco State Park is such a nice place with its spacious camp spots and having town so close by. We have spent many weekends there, but I can not recall having as much fun as we did this weekend.
The christmas decorating award goes to Dennis (87MH) and Mary

It feels alot like Christmas

Christmas rode into Blanco Texas this year in a caravan of fine Airstreams. Vintage trailors older than some of us, to brand new ones that still had the plastic on the floor to classic motorhomes and everything in between! Best of all they were all decorated with lights of the season.( even if some of the lights were procured at the SandS food store on Saturday afternoon) I sure had a great time and loved meeting everyone!! It was great to see forum members we had met in at other forum rallys. Our no plan plan worked brillantly, we had a tour of the local brewery, dinner out together Friday night, the parade and market Saturday morning, open house and pot luck dinner in the little "cabin" we rented at the last minute to escape the cold wind.Outside the cabin the guys built a roaring campfire. Miss Ella gave a fine fireside performance of her marshmallow skills that kept us all very entertained. There was soooo much food, and much good cheer, and even a few off color jokes after the kids went to bed.
All in all I'd do it again ! Just say when. A special thanks to Lora for all the great photos!

Head Count

Now ya'll are confusing me. I counted 7 trailers and 4 MH. (could be missing a MH but I'm certain I counted 7 trailers, counting the Argosy of course).

Whatever - we'll be back with bells on.

I wondered about that count, but then I was one of the beer drinkers so my memory is hazy. I do remember having a good time. Mike

Blanco Christmas Rally

Hi all !
I was the visitor in the 1990 345 LE. I could only manage to leave Austin for a few hours on Saturday - but I sure did enjoy getting to meet fellow forum members. My sister was in town so I brought her with me - she thought it was so cool that we already "knew" each other and was amazed that ya'll knew so much about my rig.
Thanks to everyone who made the gathering possible. I especially liked being able to visit / compare / chat about each others "roamsteads"
Looking forward to future rallys,
David

Just to clarify -

I heard the count from someone else (don't remember who) and didn't think to question it. It was obviously wrong since I could see more trailers than that from my own trailer.

On the way back to Austin, we ran into Dennis outside of Blanco and we decided to convoy to Austin with me leading.
Sure was nice to see another Airstream MH in the rear view mirror.
Now Dennis is accusing me of deliberately accelerating on hills, in his own words, because i could.
And yes, he is right. I wanted him to see why I have such high regards for the Jacobs ignition. But some people rather keep on torturing their 454's with the wimpy OEM dinosaur mini spark and wonder about poor fuel economy, lack of power and fouled plugs.

That Argosy had the front AND REAR wraparound windows??

If you had too many beers you would probably try hooking it up from the wrong end and wonder who stole the trailer tongue.

That is wild! A center bath would be the only way to do this one I guess unless you were an exhibitionist.

I'd really like to see it in person, Jim & Janet, you out there?? Drop me a line!

Chas
