Well it's Wednesday, hump day, looking forward to the weekend gathering. Did any of ya'll notice the Austin Statesman classified ad, ' 50 Airstream 26 ft original condition, needs some work, $2800 obo, and a Blanco area phone number? Sounds like something worth checking out. Maybe we could charge the seller a commission and put it toward a twelvepack! Mike

Weather

Looks like a pretty wet Friday (40%), but down to 20% scattered showers on Saturday. The Saturday forecast gets better as the week rolls on.

Gotta run out to the storage yard in the morning and fire up the refrigerator so that it is cold for some pot-luck fixings. We'll probably pull out of Dripping Springs about 11 am Friday to get to the park at lunch time.

We'll bring some lights to hang on the awning.

Arrival Questionable

I hate to say it, but we have one sick kid and the other looks like he's getting something. I hope they are better by Friday. We had planned on leaving late Friday afternoon, but we'll have to see. Another option would be to come Saturday morning if they are feeling better.

'hope we make it one way or another!

Here is my bad luck story.... Finally went to get M/H weighed at weigh station after going round and round with title company to get my Texas tags and the Alabama ones off. Well after leaving the weigh station on I-10 motorhome died on me and waited on mechanic thinking fuel pump or filter was bad, showed up and coudn't find anything wrong and as always started up and ran fine for him. Finally took the long way home instead of going up the 1 lane 1604 exit thinking it might die and I would hold up rush hour traffic so I took the long way home on the loop and encounter a hugh wreck and then the rig dies on me again 3 times, finally nurse it to my wifes office which is close by and he shows up several days later to look at it again with a fuel punp and filter in hand. Well after looking at it one more time and a little closer the rubber fuel line going to the pump had collasped after getting warmed up and was chocking my fuel supply. He felt sorry for me and fixed it for free ( and being a friend helped ) Needless to say I will now be at the rally think goodness... so if you see me drinking alot of BEER you will know why !

Now that looks like a likely spot to check out! I love the brewing company quote....."You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline - it helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer."

-Frank Zappa

see you there

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all you out there getting your rigs ready for the Blanco Campout. I just finished making some Homemade Hot Buttered Rum Mix, now I am ready to go. I think it may be a Hot Buttered Rum kinda campfire night. Beer is just so chilly. plus the Hot Buttered Rum will go so well with all those Christmas cookies I made.
On Saturday at 10AM downtown Blanco is the start of the Christmas Parade, which will last probably last 20 minutes? Then till 4pm will be their Christmas Market on the Courthouse Square lots of small vendors, many local. You can't miss it because it's right downtownBlanco (population 1220 elevation 1350) and less than 1/4 mile from the park entrance. The park entrance by the way is right next to the bridge in the seemingly middle of town so don't be fooled that's really it.
Have a safe trip Happy Trails to you untill we meet again.....

We should arrive at the park about noon. I have saurkraut and sausage for the proposed pot luck.

Saturday may be a little raw according to the weather guesser I just heard. Top temps in the 50s.

Maybe we could chip in about $5 or $6 a unit and get the pavilion for Saturday night ($75). It has a big fireplace and would give us some shelter from the winds. I have attended winter pot lucks with the popup group in similar weather and we all had a good time regardless of the weather.

Sounds like a good idea, bringing as much firewood as I can carry.
