Who is allowed to attend?
I have been wondering if you have to bring an Airstream trailer to attend an Airstream rally?
What about Argosy?
Or other aluminum trailers like Avion, Streamline, Travelux, or Spartan?
Would they be regarded as party crashers? Welcomed and treated like perfectly sweet but slightly deformed relatives?
Or not allowed to join in at all?

If you come to one of my forum rallys, anything goes as long as you love aluminum, even if you're staying in a tent

I can't recall a forum rally where there haven't been other brands attending.
My personal philosophy if you want to camp with me: Your trailer can be an SOB, you can't.

As far as WBCCI rallies there are buddy rallies where anyone can attend and rallies for members. to be a member you have to own an Airstream product. But as for the WBCCI units around here if you are not a member and ask to attend, no big deal.

An SOB. A tent. Motel in town. Come anyway and crash in somebody else's AlumaTube. It all works at an AIRForums rally!

Come on down!
Bring that Travelux Princess down here play with the big boys if you dare!
Airstream Forums - Crawfish Fest
We'd be honored if you make this your first rally with some Airstreamers.

we have even had people come who did not have a trailer ..yet. It helps to see them in action and get and idea of what you want to buy.

I like your way of thinking!
Even Wally Byam welcomed SOB's on his first rallies until the number of participants got to be unwieldy.

That would be us at our first two forum rallies back in 2004-2005 at Cloudland Canyon in the fall and Hiawassee in the Spring.

I think it was last year at Det- Metro Forums rally we had people in SOB's and Popups and also people that were staying in tents on the campground, came to the open house. So COME ON DOWN we would love to see your trailer. It was just about campin and have fun.

Last SpringStream we had a member that stayed at a local motel. He did bring some parts of his trailer with him for show and tell.

Excellent information! I do plan on participating (with permission of the rally organizers of course) in some of the wonderful AS rallies in our "SOB" Spartan.
I think one of the main draws to the AS lifestyle is the wonderful events that keep the owners engaged in the community and keeping the Airstreams on the road traveling as they were intended instead of setup in a park.
In general, the Spartan community is more setup for parks as the trailers although mobile were intended as park models and not setup for boondocking. Unless retrofitted of course, which you are seeing more and more of due to the pleasurable design and quality of craftsmanship. (wow, that was a marketing line!)
Thanks and see you all around the campfire!

We had fun at one of our rallys, someone showed up with a SOB; so to make them fit in, we covered their trailer with a silver tarp while they were away. When they returned, they laughed and said they felt as part of the group.

Last fall we attended (briefly) the Branson Rally. We don't own an Airstream (yet), but were invited to attend the Open House so that we could see several different coaches and get a feel for Airstreams. Since Branson is not very far from us, and we had something else to do in Springfield that evening, we didn't bring our mpg down, although if we had we would have been able to participate in more activities. We were warmly welcomed when we arrived, and quickly introduced to everyone else.
As others have said, to participate in a WBCCI Official Rally you must own an Airstream product. If you happen to be camping in SOB in the same park as the Rally you will likely be able to participate in some activities, but obviously you will not be able to vote on anything, nor should you.
