Maggie, the lid locks on and cannot be removed until the pressure is released. They are very safe. You are welcome to check mine out if you would like.

The lid locks on and cannot be removed until the pressure is released. They are very safe. You are welcome to check mine out if you would like.

Maggie, i will be bringing mine wherever I travel and I can show you how to use it. It is very easy and fun. Page told me about it. It takes the place of all my pots, although I would like to learn more about the Dutch oven as the instant pot does not work like an oven

Big Leap
Making a huge leap in a couple of months. Plan on moving into AS fulltime. At 70 this will be a big change for me. I'm clinging to Philippians 4:13. I know I can.

Gloria - search for "Instant Pot Vegan Recipes" on Facebook. That should bring up a few groups. There are several vegan chefs who participate. I don't look at the sites everyday, but there have been times when I have wondered if I could make a certain recipe in the Instant Pot, done a search on the groups, and have found the same recipe or similar already converted. Saves time.

How about a fresh sea food cookout. I suppose most of us will bring outdoor grills to cook on. We could go out and find markets nearby, and load up. I'll make sure to bring some white wines to pair with the meal.

Yes, lots of sea food... and very close to where we'll be staying.. or you could get it off the boat... and there are lots of markets around... it's a big deal there....
