A bigger questions for you:

Will your trailer be ready ?

Why not host a rally for the forums...alot of work, but worth the while.

There are many forum members in OK, TX, MO, AR that would likely make the journey.

Steve

You know Steve, I fear that even if I hosted a rally myself, I probably wouldn't show up. Lake Eufaula has some great campgrounds. It would be beautiful in the Spring or Fall, not so much the Summer in Oklahoma. Any thought about the Fall Branson thing yet?

We are on the state line, not to far from Eufaula. But, I agree with juel. I would prefer a spring or fall rally. HOT in AR or Ok in the summer.

We're game for a Oklahoma rally in the fall! All of my experiences with OK state parks have been excellent - y'all know how to take care of of 'em up there!

Fall rally?

We would come to a rally in Oklahoma, I think, it would be our first one!

OK, Steve we are working hard on the trailer. I spent Friday and Saturday helping my son stain wood and install trim in his rent house. Sunday James and I spent most of the day working on the trailer. We got a couple pieces of the floor cut to fit. We are painting the flooring on both sides and all edges. A neighbor came over and they discussed welding the braces for the black tank. They took measurments and made the shopping list. We have decided to put in a small gray tank for the kitchen sink. If we ever use the tub and back sink we will have full hookup (I hope). We always have the blue boy. James is doing some fancy plumbing so when he empties the black tank he can open the gray trank. Have read where some have the gray tank where it will empty into the black as this helps wash it out. James was afraid to cut a hole in that new black tank. James is calling around today to locate a custom gray tank. He installed a new rock guard and I ordered 4 new shocks. We are working as fast as we can. Probably won't make the ILL rally as it would take us two days there and two days back.

I have to may irons in the fire to start a rally on my own. Sorry

I would likely be up for one in the fall depending on the dates. The Wichita Mts are really neat and have a bunch of wildlife.

I dont think they will let us do resevations for individual sites, but maybe we could do a group site thing.

Rodney, admit it you have all these animals stuffed and you just pose them outside don't you? How in the world do you get such great pictures? I know you have a better camera than I do, but my goodness you're talented. Here's my front yard wildlife, a wet Red-tailed Hawk. Doesn't quite measure up.

Thanks for the complement . Part of the trick it to be 'out there' a lot working on getting the images. Come down some weekend this fall, maybe Oct-Nov, and we can do some photography. Thats a nice image of the hawk by the way.

Nice photos, Rodney... I spent a couple of years up in Ponca City... Far north Texas is what we called it... 'course, they called Texas "baja Oklahoma"... yuk, yuk, what do they know...

Did some traveling around and ran into quite a few bison. Well, not literally... magnificent creatures. Can't imagine what a a prarie full of them would of looked like.

So back to an OK rally in the fall. We talking full hook-ups? Any ideas where? Man, we're up to it!

Great photos, There is a LARGE Buffalo herd, I pass every day to and from work. Between Blanchard, OK and New Castle, OK close to Hiway 9. They just moved a herd of at least 100 into a new pasture. They are having their calfs.

fall rally?

Somewhere in Missouri/Oklahoma would be great, not sure about Texas. That's kind of far for us with gas prices the way they are. We are really only willing to drive under 5 hours at most. 3-4 would be great. Fall would be really good. Tho we plan to go to New Mexico in Sept-early Oct and if we could tie in a rally with that trip it would be outstanding.

We are setup to go the the Stars and Strip Rally in Meramec, MO Aug 20-24, 2008. Then family Reunion in Kansas Sept 5-7. We would like to do something close to home in October. I was just not sure if there was a Rally setup in the Oklahoma area.

The wildlife refuge is really nice in Oct. I can talk to the staff there about a rally if there is interest in holding it there.

This is not a summer or fall rally, but the Texas Vintage Rally will again be held in early February, this time at Braunig Lake RV in San Antonio. In past years numerous forums members have attended from all over the country. Last year we had folks from 11 states and Alberta, Canada in attendance with over 80 rigs registered. This is one of the few rallies each year wherein airstream forums members have the opportunity to mingle with and interact with VAC members, WBCCI members, and if they choose, a few in attendance not associated with either entity. Pee Wee will be attending this year and holding question and answer seminars on the early history of the Airstream Company, the Caravans he participated in to Mexico, Africa, Europe and other places, and about Wally Byam, his first cousin, along with just about anything else that one might want to know about. We had two vintage rigs last year from Oklahoma and perhaps others in newer trailers.
