fall rally?

Somewhere in Missouri/Oklahoma would be great, not sure about Texas. That's kind of far for us with gas prices the way they are. We are really only willing to drive under 5 hours at most. 3-4 would be great. Fall would be really good. Tho we plan to go to New Mexico in Sept-early Oct and if we could tie in a rally with that trip it would be outstanding.

We are setup to go the the Stars and Strip Rally in Meramec, MO Aug 20-24, 2008. Then family Reunion in Kansas Sept 5-7. We would like to do something close to home in October. I was just not sure if there was a Rally setup in the Oklahoma area.

The wildlife refuge is really nice in Oct. I can talk to the staff there about a rally if there is interest in holding it there.

This is not a summer or fall rally, but the Texas Vintage Rally will again be held in early February, this time at Braunig Lake RV in San Antonio. In past years numerous forums members have attended from all over the country. Last year we had folks from 11 states and Alberta, Canada in attendance with over 80 rigs registered. This is one of the few rallies each year wherein airstream forums members have the opportunity to mingle with and interact with VAC members, WBCCI members, and if they choose, a few in attendance not associated with either entity. Pee Wee will be attending this year and holding question and answer seminars on the early history of the Airstream Company, the Caravans he participated in to Mexico, Africa, Europe and other places, and about Wally Byam, his first cousin, along with just about anything else that one might want to know about. We had two vintage rigs last year from Oklahoma and perhaps others in newer trailers.

You could count us in on that if anyone else is interested and it should develop. We don't have anything going in the fall, and the weather should be nice and cool.

Lawton, OK wildlife refuge Rally

Rodney, Jim & Sandy that sounds good to me.
Rodney, can you check and see what our options are at the wildlife refuge?

I don't think there is going to be a Branson Rally this Oct as our great organizer (Steve) is going overseas for a year.

I will be more than happy to look into the options when I get back into Lawton in two weeks (where the heck did my summer go?).

Rodney,
We're still interested in a fall OK rally... lots closer than Branson and I've always enjoyed Oklahoma campgrounds! My vote is for a park with full hookups. Wha'cha got in mind...?

Geez Bill,

You act like you didn't have a BLAST in Branson.

I have good news that Fall Branson 2008 may be happening after all. I am considered in my dwell time from my last mobilization, and may not be required to deploy. I will be starting a new thread on Branson soon.

Steve

Oh oh... Hey Steve, how 'bout them Cowboys!?

Branso was a BLAST ! Took us two days to get there though... which cut into the 'ol work-vacation thing... Now, maybe northern Oklahoma would cut into some of that travel time and add to that QUALITY time with you cool Airstream folks!

We had been thinking of doing a fall Ft. Davis trip but fall in Oklahoma's pretty cool, too... (might have to do winter in Ft. Davis where we had "civilized" snow on Christmas day that was gone by 5PM...).

Deploy

Steve,
It would be great if you were here for the Fall Branson 2008. Sure hate to break a yearly event.

Bill, I would also like to figure out something for Oklahoma as long as Branson and Oklahoma aren't in the same weekend I am all for two Rallys.
