Texas get together

Anyone interested in joining some of us in the DFW area for a campout on November 4,5,6 please come and join us. We'll be at Lake Ray Roberts State Park (JOHNSON BRANCH) on the north side of the lake. You'll need to make your state park reservations and they're not site specific. We typically pot luck the dinners and breakfasts and it's free flow from there.

The north side of Ray Roberts (located just north east of Denton) has nice sites (elect & water only) and we had some good times there last fall. If you decide to make it let me know so I can keep a list. Typically one of us tries to get there early enough to cajole the ranger to let us check folks in and to try to keep us together a much as possible.

Tinhut,

We are in Grapevine. Would like to join you that week end but, as you know, that is the opening weekend of deer season and plans have been made far in advance.

We will, however, be staying on the north side of Ray Roberts several times through duck season. We make weekend trips there (usually the south side) throughout the year. I'll keep you informed of our plans and maybe we can get together.

That'd be great. There's several of us in the area that get together almost monthly. We'll probably try another one first weekend or so in December & will keep you posted. If you'll pm me with your email address I'll add it to our distribution list.

Hey Lynn,

Congrats on the wedding. Email me your email address & I'll add you to the invite list for future campouts in the area. We'll probably do an early December one as well & will keep you posted.

Hi Tin Hut,

Your post came none too soon... Wife and I need a break and something to look forward to SOON! Put us down!! I'll make a reservation now. (What campground of Johnson Branch should I book?)

Thanks for putting the details together. Look forward to talking to you and seeing your lighting mods on your CCD.

Rgds

Kevin, look forward to seeing you. You can't request a specific campground or site (at most state parks). Just reserve a water/electic site for Johnson Branch. As we get closer maybe we can coordinate with an early arriver to try to hold some spots so we're all together. PM me with your email address & we'll keep you posted.

Hey Gunny, man you're all over. Saw where you helped spot a trailer in California as well. Would love to catch up on your road stories. I couldn't find the phone number for Reserve America which is the site you must use to make state park reservations. Here's the link to it though

http://www.reserveamerica.com/jsp/se...ple_search.jsp

It's the first weekend in November. Make sure you reserve a water/electric site in the Johnson Branch of Lake Ray Roberts State Park. As we get closer we'll coordinate a little more on final attendance.

Gunny,

here's the link to the reservation site for the Johnson Branch of Ray Roberts Lake State Park. Let me know if this doesn't work & we'll figure it out.

looks like a nice spot!

just looked at the lake map and location...this is looks like a pretty good spot for folks coming from ks, ok, ar or southern mo as well as texas.

weather could be great then too....what was it like last time?

may try to get that way myself if the fall travel route agrees.....i'll know better next week.

does this state park fill usually?

cheers

We've never been to a rally before. Now that we have our Argosy restored, we would really like to join you. Does the campground usually fill up this time of year. My husband won't know if he can get free those dates until next week. You can email me at juel1942@sbcglobal.net.

Texas Get togeather

I just got my conformation from TPW and they want $100.00 per day & $5.00 per person per day & $63.00 reswervation fee!!!!! All this within five days by money order, which I can't do in that time frame due to my location ( Gettysburg, PA.), so I guess I won't be there.

Don, don't know what you hooked into with those prices. You could go on a cruise for that much. It's usually about $14 per day. Maybe you plugged in a group site reservation or something. Try it again. If you come up with something strange like that let me know. I can make your reservation & you can pay me back when you get there. Just let me know what you want to do. http://www.reserveamerica.com/jsp/co.../newindex.html

My Back Yard

Hey you guys are gathering in my back yard - almost. I am new to this but trying to get the hang of things. Anyway, I live in Denton and could make a run up there to have a look, shoot some photos and suggest some locations. How many Streamers are we talking so far? Are newbies like myself and wife allowed? We just picked up a '72 Safari 23' a couple of weeks ago. We're pretty excited and pretty ignorant - a frightening combination!
