Aria - I am sorry - I will bring you up to speed via PM which means private message.

Up on the top right hand side there is a little link under where it says Welcome Aria click on that and you will see your private messages. Once I write one the forum notifies you that you have one if you have indicated notification.

When I first joined her back in 04 I think I had about 10 PMs before I realized what it was. People kept telling me that the PM'd me and I just thought they had lost it or had a bit too much to drink.... Chat in a minute

Aria -- Welcome to the forums and to the Silver Sisters Rally! Thanks for the pic to add to our bluebird discussion, too. What a sweetie!

Don't forget to learn about karma -- we love to spread karma! Just click on the "User CP" and look for "Latest Reputation Received." You'll see a list of green dots with a note from someone telling you why they sent you the good karma.

Welcome Aria and thanks for sharing the picture of your precious little friend.

And thanks Jamie for mentioning Karma. I didn't know that was there! And I even have been given some! Imagine that - thanks sisters!

A day at the feeders...

Just thought I would share with you nature lovers.....dang Carol I need a better camera!!

The squirrel on the Green and Burg Feeder is really far away on our front path. I think he figured out I was taking his picture - looks like I scared the B's out of him.

If anyone is into folk art painting - well it's not really - That bird feeders roof is painted with two scenes from the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It has seen better days now being almost 7 years old - the Black squirrels get quite nasty with it and if there is no seed left they start to eat the feeder!

That feeder also acts as the rescue centre. When I find a bird that has flown into one of our windows and still alive - I pick it up and place him in the feeder to recover. Other birds still come to feed (to keep him company and encourage him to fly again) but it is out of reach of the dogs.

I have seen where the birds will protect a weak bird from the red squirrels - just long enough for the bird to recoup. It really is amazing to watch the goings on here.

Well enjoy - PS I have cut and split a whole cord of wood now so we should be set for a couple of more days. I think TinSista is off to the Chocolate Factory and maybe Wheelinterested is brewing a new batch of wine????

Great shots. You don't need a new camera Sharon your pictures are awesome! Aria that is such a little bird and you got to hold him! We don't have any nearby trees to the house so in summer we get mostly field birds. We have a bird bath and use the binoculars but that isn't anything like your up close and personal encounters you have posted here. And Nancy's bluebird. Just beautiful.

One of our houses was a raised ranch with a tree outside the window upstairs. We used to watch the squirrels build their nests. One trip up the squirrel lost his bundle and you could just imagine his thoughts, "Dang! How did that happen?" as he looked longingly to the ground almost in disbelief.

I love observing animal behavior. Bradley would like to get a scope and tripod and take it to Yellowstone to Lamars (?) Valley and watch the wolves. There was quite a crowd of observers lined up on a ridge when we were there and they know when and where to watch for activity. Our favorite activity is watching wildlife out West.

Talking Back with more chocolate...

Great photos Sharon!! I just love watching the birds. Today the cardinals have been so amazing, the red/green color contrast when they perch in the norway pines is really noticable today.

Lovely photos!!

Call Ducks

Hey, It worked. I will try again. These are the Call Ducks that we raise. They originated from a fine line of show ducks. We do enjoy them.
