Close to the 3rd annual VAC Rocky Mt rally is the antique store of Second Chance Ranch, owned by Elizabeth Henson, in "downtown" La Veta, CO. Knowing that Airstreamers were in town she parked this sheepherders two bed camp trailer in front of her store. It was made by William E. Madsen & Sons, Mt. Pleasant, Utah, circa 1950. She put a sign on it saying it was the predecessor to the Airstream, little knowing that Wally Byam was a sheepherder and might have used a camp trailer similar to this one.

Nice pictures but.....NOT EVEN CLOSE..
This is a wolf, disguised in sheep's covering..
Wally was making Airstreams back in the 1930's ~!~
We all recognized her "mistake", but thought it was a nice gesture to welcome us VAC'ers to the quaint town of La Veta. Several of the shops were also offering discounts on purchases and the "locals" showed up in force at the Open House....and besides, it is awfully darn cute! Thanks for the pix Forrest!
I agree, that thing is really cute inside! I love the wood on the walls and ceiling. Wouldn't an AS look great with an interior like that? Of course it would be a lot heavier than the vinyl I've got now. Oh well, I guess my AS is already perfect, I'd better just leave it alone.
I'd love to see more vintage trailers. We're busy all this month, else we'd have gone to the TCT rally in Bellingham. I was really looking forward to seeing some other types of old trailers.

Isn't that a clever use of a tandem axle, spreading them to both ends of the trailer like that! Why, I'll bet that might even catch on as an idea for a hayrack some day!

Steph...I think your interior is perfect, but I love the interior of this trailer as much as you do.
Now MY interior still needs a lot of work. I wonder if Brett could install the board & batten this weekend? While he's at it he could veneer the existing cabinetry with natural wood.
That new motor ought to handle the extra weight just fine!
