Well we are going to be attending our first Rally in a little less than 2 weeks in Newport Beach. This is the Vintage Trailer Rally put on by Vintage Vacations. We walked the rally last year on the day of the open house, and it was awesome! We had only had our Airstream for about 3 months at the time, and were (still are) in the process of remodeling her. However, this year we managed to get in early before it sold out. In fact, we heard it sold out in only 12 days! We are really looking forward to being there, and meeting fellow Airstreamers and Vintage Trailer owners. And other folks who will be coming down the day of the open house which is on Saturday May 19th from 11am-4pm.
So, who else is coming from the Airstream Forums? We'd love to know. Please come by and see us!
We will be there with our Safari, from Thursday night through Sunday morning.
Bill

Well Bill, we'll look forward to seeing you at the Rally. I'm sure we'll have a ton of people coming down to see all of these beautiful trailers! See you then!
Ron
We spent the weekend at the Vintage-Vacations Vintage Trailer Rally at the Newport Dunes in Newport Beach, CA. Here are a few pictures for your viewing pleasure. The first two are of a 1936 Home Built trailer owned by Vince Martinco, the outside and the interior, note the three separate burners for the cooktop. The next picture is a 1949 Silver Streak Clipper and the last picture is a 1953 Flying Cloud, not the painted number 79. This trailer is owned by the granddaughter of a founding member of WBCCI. The trailer was on the original Mexico Caravan they were playing a DVD made from the grandfathers pictures.

Here are a few more, a 1954 Flying Cloud, a 1965 German Dethleffs which was towed in by a 1965 BMW 1600, a Woody Teardrop and for my friend Rob Baker a Jeep Wagoneer, enjoy:

Fred,
It was a fun event and the weather was Southern California perfect. I heard that this is the last rally for Craig Dorsey as he is moving out of So Cal. Hopefully someone, such as Tin Can Tourists will take it over and continue the tradition.
