Highland Lakes Unit Rally

Just returned from Region 9's Highland Lakes Unit rally at River Shade RV Park in Seguin, TX.

We had 9 Airstreams and 19 people in attendance. One couple had returned from Alaska with their Airstream that very day and attended the last day sans trailer.

We caravanned to several good restaurants and to the San Antonio Botanical Gardens for a tour and lunch.

This was my first Airstream rally and I really enjoyed it. The hosts had prepared well. There was a lot of good comraderie all the way from breakfast time to game time in the evening.

There are some good rallys planned including a special event for the vintage folks.

The unit is planning to hold a "vintage day" in a few months at a member's place near Lake Travis in Austin. We would like to get as many vintage trailers out as possible for all to see, WBCCI members or not . We would like to see folks come out with or without their trailers. There will be something like hot dogs for lunch.

There is a nearby RV park for those who would stay over. The host can also accommodate several trailers on his place.

Darn...I wished I had known. We left Austin Saturday afternoon (14th) to return to Alvin, TX after spending the week on Lake Travis (in a cabin). The weather was great and I got a good sunburn and MarilynW caught a mess of fish. First time I did not have to fix something on the boat during a vacation. A rally would have been great end to a perfect week.

John, keep us posted on dates, we would like to come by and check it out. After all, my 79 is only
1 year and 3 month away from being vintage.
