We're here! It's raining and the sun is shining. The park is gloriously decorated with fall foliage.

Our gracious hosts have put 22 pink flamingos around the front office. One for each trailer! They said pick yours up when you come in and put them in front of your rig if you want. In any event, they have one for each of us!

We are very pleased with the way our block has been kept just for us. Drew & Carol, you're our next door neighbors & have Phyllis and Tim on your other side. Everyone is in the same south end of the park, so it's going to be a good rally.

Got news for y'all- our 22nd traylah is coming to join us from Washington state, according to the campground folks. They are presently on the Blue Ridge, but joining us here! Yaay!

Rain has quit. Weather for the rally is great! Can't wait to see everyone!

They lied to you Carol, we are the late comers but we are in a classic motorhome not a traylah. I called the park this morning but didn't get a chance to get on the computer until now. I did sign up on the rally page so the count is there.

We just finished the Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway, all 575 miles. We are heading toward Branson but don't know for sure when we will arive as we tend to get sidetracked whenever we see something interesting.

Could you PM me with any details we might need. We will have to do some shopping on the way so location of nearby stores would help. Thanks.

Looking forward to meeting everybody.

Cheers, Dan & Irene

Previews of Rally Site

Ok, here's the great flamingo welcome from our campground hosts. They have gone all out for us. And see all you guys' empty campsites, and our lonely Esmerelda!

The screened building is our rec hall. It has seating for 40 right now, but they are moving more tables in for us.

THREE big ole grills....BIG, and a smoker, too. Where's the beef? And pork?
It's spotless, and tablecloths cover the tables. They've welcomed us there, too, with a flamingo welcome sign on the door!

We sure are lonely, but we're busy getting ready....and, ya'll, there's a full moon tonight. I think we need more than a weekend for this rally. It's so nice here, I'm thinking a week at least!

Tony (of Acorn Acres) escorts everyone to their campsite and Lorraine is working with the rest of their staff to make everything wonderful for the rally!

Directions

Acorn Acres RV Park And Villas in Branson, Missouri is easy to find!

Just 1 1/2 Miles West of Silver Dollar City's Theme Park on Hwy 76

But we recommend that you either come from Branson West or if coming from the east - go past the entrance, turn around and come back so you can make a right turn into the campground. The foliage is thicker than it was this spring and it's harder to see the eastbound traffic entering the dip just west of the campground entrance. There are many places to turn around west of the campground. Branson West is only a mile or two from the campground entrance. There is a Walmart, Walgreens and other shops and food outlets near Branson West.

Looks great Carol! I'm jealous your already there! I think were in 26 not too far from y'all so we should have far to stumble back to the trailer. I can't wait to see you on Thursday, were planning on going to a good Mexican Restaurant at Branson's Landing Thursday night if y'all are interested. They make the guacamole right at the table, it's kinda fancy but very good and they have the fire and water show right next to the Restaurant.

See you soon!

Someone told me they haven't been doing the fire & water show lately. I hope that's wrong! I love the downtown area, especially those cool shops there by Bass World, etc. I remember when there was nothing much down there but some ole dilapidated cabins & that boat ride on The Sammy Lane. Now a Hilton & everything!

One of these days I want to take the train ride, too. And the craft & bluegrass stuff at Silver Dollar City is my favorite of their festivals! Too much to do here!

And then, I want to spend most of my time hanging around with everyone talking about our travels. Two weeks next time? LOL

I hate to run off since we'll have about six trailers coming in Thursday - but we'll see how it goes. We'd love to go to dinner with you if we can. I love Mexican, but no guacamole! I like the rest, though. Fancy is nice for a change after campground food for a few days!

We have 22 confirmed sites for the rally so far - but there are rumors of maybe a few more AS's that might show up unreserved. Staff at the campground has informed all AS's that have camped here of the rally, and many of them don't know about AIR Forums.

There will be at least 40 attendees at the rally, but please don't feel like you have to prepare enough food to feed everyone. Make food for 6 to 8 people at most, that way we won't have a huge leftover problem. You can offer bite size samples for judging purposes if you are entering the barbeque contest.

Please bring your own utensils, dinnerware and beverage container. There will be some provided, but not enough for everyone. Coffee and Tea will be provided.

We're up for a Sat nite stay. I figured I can use my battery charger to top off batteries. Left a message at office to see if there is a spot available.

Come on!

Just come on up! The office is closed now, but I have a list of all the reservations and it looks like they can get you in on one of the ends of the three rows we have. Also, our "ends" aren't completely even, so we can get you in more or less with everyone else unless they took some reservations today I don't know about. I'll check in the morning, too, and make sure they got in touch with you.

Go ahead and reserve, though. We've seen several drive in today and by the weekend, this thing may be close to full. I'm sure they'll have a place for you.

Sure glad you're coming over. We want to see that trailer. We'll make sure you have some power, one way or another. Anything you need to run can always be ran in from outside. They have two 110 outlets on each campsite. It wouldn't be the first time we've figured out how to run an extension cord in for necessities.

See you Saturday! Don't forget to tell them you're with us. There's a 20 percent discount.

I just got word that Kathys sister is going to join us with her vintage Mark Twain. The office told her that who ever had spot 28 back out for this weekend. Did we know that person from our group? Good thing is her trailer is painted silver LOL!
Did anyone use a Garmin gps to get there? I hear if you use the address in a Garmin that it will not take you to the rite spot.

A little stormy/rainy tonight. Also some rain in the forecast tomorrow and tomorrow night. But beginning Thursday, weather is going to be great. Daytime highs in mid to high 70s. Nighttime lows high 40s to mid 50s.

Shane, yes, I'm very surprised that spot opened up. Thought sure they would be here. We met them last year. Must have had something happen to prevent them coming. I hope everything is ok. We'll miss them. They aren't too far away - maybe they will still drop in.

I'm glad Kathy's sis got it re-assigned, though. The more, the merrier. What's a Mark Twain? I'm not familiar with it. You said vintage. Always interested in those!

Late cancellations

Anyone who has a reserved site for the rally, please let us know if you need to cancel.

The campground is supposed to let us know and give us a chance to fill the opening with our attendees or tighten up our block, but sometimes they forget. If we don't fill them, there's a good possiblity we'll end up with a giant 20-foot high moho or some big fiver right in the middle of our rally. We are really trying to discourage that happening. If you are in a non-airstream and part of our rally, this in no way means you would not be welcome. We just try to keep our group together and neighborly. We've had SOBS before and welcome them if they're here for the AIR Midwest Rally.

So, if you possibly can, message me, Terry or Phyllis and let us know you are cancelling so we can get with the campground office and claim that spot for the rally, even if it means moving around a bit. (No one will be moved without their permission and agreement)

We have no rules, and if we end up with one or two, we make them up as we go along! LOL Only reason for this request is to try to keep us all together.

Thanks so much!
