Red - rule #1 when you're in a hole: stop digging! 😂😂😂
I don't know Al or Missy but I'm quite confident neither will punch you in the mouth. 😃

I have what my buddy at work calls "Joker's Tourette's"... I try so hard some days (obviously not today), but some things are just funny. Unfortunately, my youngest daughter suffers the same malady, which isn't so bad as an adult, but as a senior in high school...
-Red, needing to beat his kids more often...

Schedule of events

Here's the "always a work in progress" schedule of events for CanOpener 2016 - 10th Anniversary Edition** (remember the schedule is like the pirate code..........it's more of a guideline, aaarrrggghhh )
THURSDAY, JANUARY 7TH:
5:00p.m. = Chili Night Potluck at the clubhouse AND amphitheater. Bring your own eating utensils, drinks and chairs or blankets to sit on out at the amphitheater; we'll serve in the clubhouse but eat out under the stars!
7:00p.m. = Concert Series featuring The Currys (see post #562 by Russ/Luckyducks), provided by The Friends Of Topsail. These concerts have always been a fun and festive time with great and talented performers, and possibly some spontaneous dancing! Bring your own drinks and come hang out by the fire pits around the amphitheater!
FRIDAY, JANUARY 8TH:
12:00pm = 4th Annual Cornhole Invitational Tournament & Margaritaville
Where = Wild Oak Lane, C loop. Whether you play or not, come and bring your chairs, line the street and feel free to cheer or heckle your favorite players! A fun time WILL be had by all. $1.00 entry fee for the tourney, single elimination with winner take all! Our defending champion is Levon followed by previous two time winner Wes (affectionately known as dh).
4:30ish-5:30ish = Unofficial Welcome to CanOpener Happy Hour
Where = Site 112. Bring your own source of "happy".
SATURDAY, JANUARY 9TH:
9:00a.m. = Breakfast With The Ranger, at the clubhouse. Limited seating of 85 people and previous sign up is required please.
11:00a.m. = Bloody Saturday
Where: Site 112
12:30 = The All Aluminum All The Time Open House Extravaganza. If you'd like to open your trailer to your fellow CanOpenians, you will be provided with a sign in your welcome goodie bag indicating you're participating. Please post this sign in your trailer window or on your site.
7:00p.m. = DJ, Dancing, Karaoke and Fire at the amphitheater. Bring your beverage of choice, your singing voice and your dancing shoes to the party under the stars!
SUNDAY, JANUARY 10TH:
8:30a.m. - ??? = Open Air Pajama Party Coffee Bar
Where: site 127
What: A light continental style breakfast along with some fabulous "adult" coffee beverages. Since this event is a bit early (at least for some of us!) and some may feel like going back to bed after a few of those coffees, it's appropriate to wear your favorite and most fabulous pajamas to this soiree! And the pjs are also in honor of our favorite ranger, Ranger Fred, who will be attending...in his flannels of course! BYOC - bring your own cup (and chair if you like)!
Hints for a happy camper time at CanOpener:
1) Get out of your trailer, walk around and meet your fellow CanOpenians!
2) Participate in as many or as little of the activities you like!
3) If you see a lit fire ring, walk up, introduce yourself and join the party!
**4) Remember this is a very large gathering so be flexible and know that all activities are always Weather Dependent, i.e. rain!
5) Smile and be thankful you own an Airstream and are a part of the most awesome traveling community on the planet!

Bringing this forward again.

OK, you can make up for the horrific insult with a ride in the bike. You are bringing it this year, right?
Al
Not really insulted, but I can't speak for Missy.

Yay! At lunch today my husband asked if "that boy with the Airstream motor home was going to be there this year". It was his favorite! Lol, boy...

Oh yeah! The bike will be there. Just do like Captain Hank, and borrow it for a few hours... Just don't take my beer cooler when you go.

Al, we think Red should be your personal bike Can-Uber driver during the entire Canopener!
Just saying!

This site is 125 in loop 103. It needs to be filled with an Airstream. Anybody want to upgrade to that site. Probably can cancel for the $10.00 charge.
PM us for phone number.

Idea of the day! As long as Al sits in my lap...
Can you tell the Florida-Michigan game has me drinking heavily?
-Red, wasting away again...

Now you've gone and done it.

Hi Folks
we are in Christmas Florida and will be heading north next Tuesday. We will be taking I95 to Jacksonville then I10 across. We are thinking of an overnight stop around the I75 intersection. Can anyone steer me towards a nice Park or S.P. in that area. We are looking at a Wed. arrival at Topsail to get settled in and lend a helping hand. Appreciate any help in finding an overnighter. Also we have never stayed in a Walmart lot. Could this be a good time and place to do that?
Thanks
Pete and Judy

Try Stephen Foster State Park near the intersection of I-10 and I-75. Park is probably 10 minutes northeast from that intersection. Very nice campground. Make reservations through Reserve America. Here's the link:

Thanks again, see you there.

WELCOME PACKETS AND NAMETAGS
Name tags and welcome packets (including maps) will be available beginning Thursday morning through Saturday afternoon. ( maybe late Wednesday afternoon too - TBD).
You can pick your packets and name tags up where you see the welcome sign and balloon. This will mostly be at site 141 but will travel when the larger events are happening ( i.e. At the cornhole tournament, cocktail party welcome etc).
See you soon!
