Red,
If you're really, really good (which I suspect is rather rare) we might bring some Diamond Bear; awesome beer!

Jrglenn, welcome to the Canopener, or, as I've recently learned, Can Opener... Maybe we could smash the two together and settle on "CanOpener". Anywhoooo, welcome!
-Red, liking the "new" name...

And Boog, hope I didn't scare you off. The hippies are REALLY nice people, and they usually bring their own stimulants... It's like a mellow Cheech and Chong routine...
-Red, making up the whole hippie story...
For the really old members, or the really young, Cheech and Chong were a comedy duo from the seventies that based most of their humor on the cannabis culture of the time. Little known fact, even though President Ronald Regan and his wife Nancy started the current "war on drugs", and a "Just Say No!" campaign, Cheech and Chong visited the Regan White House over 450 times between 1981 and 1987... Making them the top visitor to the White House in history, having spent more nights in the White House than anyone other than presidents and immediate family.

jrglenn - we will bring your badges, if we don't see you before January. SECU will be at the Canopener in large numbers!

Canopener campground construction
Has anyone else gotten a call from Reserve America saying their site is being worked on and that there is only tent and cabins available ? The sites affected are #8(us), 14, 17, 20, 79, 63, 22, 107, 109, 111, 113, 116, 115(Panama Red) 117, 118. We booked early March and this was to be our first rally. Really disappointed!! He said we could reschedule or be reimbursed use fee. That's great but still disappointed! Let us know if there is anything we can do beside tent camp

I also got the call and have called both the customer service line and the park directly. Customer service was a complete bust, no help at all. I have a call into the park, expecting to hear back tomorrow morning. Hopefully that goes better. Really upset over this, we have been looking forward to this year since the 2015 Canopener.

Our site is also on the list Spoke with Jason at Topsail Hill Campground this afternoon - I was told that they would delay the construction on the sites until after Canopener. You might want to call the park directly and confirm for yourself before canceling your reservation. That being said I would expect to find the site to have broken concrete when you arrive. I did notice that our site 118 did have broken concrete last year. Hope it is not much worse. We are planning to use it. Again don't cancel before checking with park directly.
