T Minus 1 Month and counting..............

It's true, it's true, it's really true - we are only 1 month away from CanOpener 2016, woohoo So it's time to get this thread revved up with some final details (to be followed by a lot more final details.......). Let's start with:

RSVP PAGE - yup, that's right, believe it or not there are still folks who haven't signed up on the rsvp page (page 1 of this thread). If you don't see your name on the most current maps page then YES, this message is expressly for you! (And if you know of someone planning to attend CanOpener but are not a part of the forums page, please please please contact them and rsvp on their behalf, what a friend you'll be)

THURSDAY NIGHT CHILI POTLUCK - if you have yet to sign up for this fun kick off event NOWS THE TIME! We are still in need of 13 or more large pots of chili. But if cooking isn't your thing no worries, we'll need bags of tortilla chips, salsa, or a purchased dessert, or take your pick from the menu Please check post #532 (thank you LuckyDucks and TVKetchum for cleaning up the sign up) and add what you'll be bringing. Thanks!

FRIDAY CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT - If you have corn hole boards and/or bags you are willing to bring please PM me. 6 sets of boards and bags would be awesome to have.

CUSTOM SHIRTS FROM FOLEY RV - If you haven't sent a PM to Karen Roberts (karenjude) regarding your T-shirt sizes, please do so asap as the order will be going in on December 15th. If you know of anyone attending the CanOpener and is not a part of this forum, please contact them and get their info to Karen. Thank you all for your help with this.

Stay tuned for more fun tidbits and info...........
Annette

You are invited to attend a fun-filled weekend in northwest Florida at beautiful Topsail Hill Preserve State Park in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. The park's beaches have sugar white sand, the water is a wonderful emerald green and temperatures average a high of 61 degrees in early January.

This rally just keeps growing in popularity – there were approximately 103 Airstream trailers and motor homes at the 2015 Canopener Rally.

Fun and sharing a good time with like-minded fellow Airstreamers is the main agenda. The park offers hiking, beautiful beaches and trails suitable for jogging or bicycling. Many participants bring their kayaks. There are numerous outstanding restaurants in the Santa Rosa area.

Scheduled activities include a potluck dinner and breakfast, breakfast and hike with the ranger, cornhole board tournament, Airstream trailer open house and a number of other fun informal social activities. The availability of the new amphitheater next to the clubhouse opens many opportunities for additional entertainment.

Although the rally is officially Friday through Sunday, January 8-10, 2016, some folks do arrive early to take advantage of the park and surrounding area. There have been informal events preceding the official start of the rally and these will be identified on this thread.
RSVP Below
Airstream Forums - Canopener 2016

Reservations for campsites must be made through Reserve America. Their policy prohibits reservation more than 11 months in advance of your arrival date (see their site for exact details). In the past, loop 103 has filled first and overflowed into other sites. Now with the park almost filled with Airstreams, sites closer to the amphitheater may also fill fast.

There are no rally fees.

I am RSVP'ing for Canopener for friends, Tim and Jackie Neese. Site 87 Loop 102. Their tagline is Keepin it Wheel. Please confirm I have responded in the right place to get them on the map....

Our AS is purported to have arrived today at Foley, so at least we will not be camping in the pickup bed at Canopener! Now will pick up Rose in Gulfport on Monday, Jan 4th, spend a couple of days getting the kinks worked out, and will arrive at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park on Wednesday, Jan 6th for our first real camp night with our AS! Very excited. Also will be interesting to see if even an F250 diesel can carry all the cooking stuff Judy has purchased. The girl does love to cook, and it has been said on occasion she is not without talent in that arena....

Hey! Congrats! We're also coming in on Wednesday. Make sure you stop by and say "Hi!" I'll be the loudmouth on the pedal buggy... The pretty one next to me will be Mrs. Red.

-Red, getting wound up now...
