Let's suppose you could build your own rally. What would you include? What would you exclude?
We go to about 12-14 WBCCI rallies each year, and some are better (to us) than others. I'm sure you have your own ideas about what does (or would) make a good rally.
I'll start:
I would forget about a group breakfast at the crack of dawn. I have a breakfast routine every day. I do best if I stick to my own breakfast.
Who's next? You can list as many ideas as you want.
I would save the evenings for the food fests and campfire camaraderie, and I'd like a whole lot of unstructured day time with tons of information about the area for day tripping.

WDCU. . .MALs no longer! What's a few miles among Airstream friends?
Both great suggestions. I would be happy with a campfire, none of the rallys I've been to have had one yet. I don't really need the after dinner entertainment in the clubhouse, I think swapping stories around the campfire would be just as much (if not more) fun.
At the rallys I've been to the old folks turn in pretty close to dark (or stay in the clubhouse palying cards and doing puzzles). I'd love to share my love of astronomy with the other airstreamers, but they get up so early, I guess it makes sense they want to hit the hay when it gets dark

We started having campfires at our rallies last fall. Our Unit splits about 1/2 and 1/2 between campfire and cards.
I think a telescope and astronomy would be AWESOME!
OK, Stef, you're probably right. No togas. I have seen the pictures from last years midwest rally, and they are all sitting around the campfire. I can't wait to do that this year.
I would love to hear your stories about astronomy while under the magnificent sky with all of my newfound friends.

I am crazy and can stir up disasters with the best of them. But when I settle down, I really do like the calm life too. I am A to Z on likes and emotions. Some people like that, some people don't.
Edie G, I'm sorry to make this forum all about me. Since I haven't had the good fortune to make it to a rally, I will bow out, so everyone else will participate.

TCL, We will need to have a "Trailer Cat" contest at the Rallies too.
Being new to the Rally concept, I'm not sure what is included other than what I have read in the BB. If that is the guide line, then YES to the crack of dawn group breakfast, I think that would give the late night crowd the needed recovery time. It is important to have stuff for the kids to get involved in. That is all till further research is done on my part.
