Still waiting on renovations to my 61 TW...which feel like forever as it's been over a year. I sure hope the wait is worth it. So I will set my sights, like some before, on making it to a future gathering with the Player(to be named later) and me making new memories.

Since I'm coming from the BalloonFest in Statesville, can I come in on Sunday night after we leave there? And then leave again Monday for a couple nights and then come back? Just add up the days when I officially check in to the office?

ALUMALINA…...SOME GOOD THINGS TO KNOW

TOM JOHNSON CAMPING CENTER, 1885 US 70 WEST, MARION, NC
The Tom Johnson Rally Park features rally style parking, meaning side by side, back to back, in rows. Everyone has their own full hook up. We will all be close neighbors but with ample room to open awnings, set up camp, and park your tow vehicle.

We have sites near the Pavilion and Bath House designated as handicap. Let us know if you need one, we are happy to oblige.

No one needs an invitation to join in on a ‘’neighborhood block party’’. Make yourself at home, enjoy each other, share the love, it’s why we are here.

No one is required to be a member of any Club. We are all here for the same reason…to enjoy each other, and celebrate the Airstream lifestyle.

CAMPING WORLD is located at the front of the property. Across the street in the SERVICE CENTER building is the CAMPGROUND OFFICE, and the TOM JOHNSON CAFÉ.

Marion NC is a town of approximately 8500 people and is the county seat for McDOWELL COUNTY. Elevation 1400’. By contrast, nearby Mt Mitchell is 6683’.

The nearest grocery, fuel, restaurants, and Lowes are only 1.5 miles east of the park. Downtown Marion about 5 miles to the east.

The nearest Veterinarian is ANIMAL HOSPITAL OF MARION, 1885 US 70 West, app 1 mile east of the Park. 828.724.4774

Nearest URGENT CARE is McDOWELL URGENT CARE, 472 Rankin Drive, Marion

PROPANE can be purchased at the SERVICE CENTER across Resitoflex, or ACE HARDWARE, 1612 Rutherford Rd, Marion.

ICE can be purchased 24 hours at the self-service Ice House 1.5 miles east of the Park.

While you are here be sure to check out downtown Marion, Asheville, Black Mountain, the Blue ridge Parkway, and Mt. Mitchell.

The Campground will furnish firewood for the large fire pit at the pavilion. If you have a campfire at your rig please make sure it is in an above ground pit, and be careful with it.

We encourage everyone to wear a name badge of some sort, so we can all put a face with the name. We will have badges available if you need one.

Howdy Ed....Not to worry, slides are not a problem, and you will not be the only slider there either, so yawl can have a slide of a time. GCinSC will be there, he is King Slide I.

It is indeed rally style parking, but very nice space between sites. This same park has regular huge rallies, filled with condo fivers and gigantic mohos, where most all of them have multiple slides on both sides.

You will like it.

Sadly, I have to cancel. Cristen Rusch and Carrie Taylor will not be able to attend Alumalina this year. I have a friend who decided to have a quickie wedding in Asheville this weekend. I thought about doing both, but it’s just gonna be too much work. I hope everyone has a great time. I hope to attend next year!
