I’m number 184 and would really prefer to arrive a few days early and probably will want to stay a couple of extra days after the official closing of Aluminalina. Do I contact the campground directly or you. How early can I arrive and how late can I stay and get the rally rate?
I would love to host a pre or post event get together for other solo streamers if anyone would be interested.

…..Anyone can come early and stay late, same camping rate of $32/night, full hook ups. A bargain.

No matter when you plan to arrive, no reservation is needed, just come on in, it is self parking, we have the entire Park once again, and we have plenty of room for everyone.

We just ask everyone to be sure to pay for their own site after arrival. The Campground trusts us and we trust our friends.

Please feel free to host anything you want, especially before and after the rally. There are usually quite a few folks there on both ends that would enjoy the company.

We will have planned happy hours each day during the rally, but everyone is always free to do as they please.

We will have sign making supplies available at the Pavilion to help advertise any side events.

Once one has found Tom Johnson Camping Center 1885 US 70 W, Marion, NC 28752, United States, the entrance to the campground I used last year was Resistoflex Road about 150 yards west of the retail sales store. This info helped me and may be useful to other chronologically mature individuals who do not like to turn campers around... LOL

Tom Johnson Camping Center is quite a large complex, with facilities on both sides of Resitoflex Road.

As Tommie has pointed out, it is best to turn on RESITOFLEX ROAD, just west of the huge American flag that graces the entrance to the retail part of the TJ Camping Center.

This will keep you from needing to snake your way through the sales lot of Camping World, which is part of the TJCC, to the Rally Park.

Turn onto RESISOFLEX, you will then see the Rally Park and its entrance, on the left.

We will have signs out to help.

We will also have a greeter to help you from there.

You will like it.

One more thing about the photos.... some folks do not want their picture taken. So, if you just want a shot of your rig, that is just fine. You do not have to have your mug in the photos, I can shoot whatever you want, within reason. And good taste.

We're gonna take good care of you with the meals, so you will have minimal food prep time and maximum time to enjoy the rally.

Here is a look.....

Thursday night is the traditional rally kick off with the hot dog feast. We will have the dogs, buns, condiments, and chips. Modest, but good.

Friday morning we will furnish the coffee and fresh donuts. Just bring your cup. The donuts are baked fresh locally every morning.

Friday night, a new twist....We have a local eatery preparing and serving burritos and tacos for us. Made fresh, you will love them. Rita, and her boy friend Hosea, will be there to help out as well.

Saturday morning is our traditional all pot luck breakfast, an Alumalina mainstay. Please bring your best breakfast dish to share. Always magnificent, always plentiful. We will have the coffee.

Saturday night we will once again enjoy the absolutely fabulous, wonderfully delicious, expertly prepared fish fry. All top shelf, restaurant grade ''A'' fish fillets, shrimp, devil crab, fries and pups. We will have plenty and will not run out. Come hungry.

Sunday AM more fresh coffee and donuts.


A couple of side notes.....

FOR THOSE THAT WANT IT.... located in the Service Center, other side of Resistoflex Road, big building with green roof, is the Tom Johnson Café. Open for breakfast and lunch every day except Sunday with short orders and plate specials. Very good and very reasonable.

SET UPS....Are important. Please bring your own plate, utensils, and drink to the meals. Doing so saves a thousand dollars over the weekend!!

THE KITCHEN....if you need it, is located under the Pavilion. Newly remodeled, it has a stove, frig, freezer, a sink with hot water, and a restroom.

HERE'S A TIP.... learned from veteran Airstreamers: If you like to use real set ups...no paper/plastic/Styrofoam...wash them in the sink at the Pavilion after eating, before returning to your rig, so no mess back at the trailer. Drop them in a bag of some sort, ready to go for the next meal.

GROUP THERAPY.... precedes each dinner, so it is not necessary to bring any appetizers, UNLESS YOU WANT TO. We never decline good food and/or any participation.

POP UP SEMINARS....Have a topic not covered? Have some info to share? Want to generate a discussion? Not enough time to cover a topic in a regular seminar?

The Pop Up Seminars are topics that ''pop up'' during the rally. The INFO CENTER will serve as the notification point, where those interested can get together and talk shop, perhaps take a ''field trip'' to a nearby rig. A round table type of seminar, where everyone leads the discussion.

Nothing beats experience, come take advantage of those that have been there and done that.
