Wow, Barry, that was really quick!
Not surprising, tho, with all your modifications that made it so much more user-friendly.
Can't wait to see the new one.

Yep! The new owners will be thrilled!

Me too, Maggie! I have very mixed emotions about having sold SilverLeaf. Yes, I realize it's an inanimate object, but three years and thousands of miles (safe ones...thankfully) created a bond! I'm already planning several "quality" mods for SilverLeaf II. OH, that will include a DO...

I am glad you found a good home for Silverleaf, Barry. It was one sweet trailer. And I am looking forward to the mods you make on your new Classic. Please post them as you go, so that I may make notes for when we get our Classic. :-)

Lisa,
Wow, that's a bunch of photos. Bet you got tired of reloading film into that 35mm Nikon or was it a Cannon?
Thanks for taking the time and the great shots. Did some of the lake late evening shots get filtered for the colors?
Gary
We're having a campfire tomorrow night. Visitors welcome, same rules as last weekend.

Great folks make great rallys
There are many people to thank for making this perhaps the best gathering yet.
At the top the list are all you fine folks that came: 53 rigs, about 110 people, and a bunch of 4 legged friends. Can't have a rally without people, can't have a great rally without great people. Can't be done.
I made myself a list of all the ones that went above and beyond the call of duty so that everyone else could have even more fun, and there are many on the list. I decided I may inadvertently leave someone off so I won't publish the list but rest assured, I know who you are and THANK YOU.
Butchers and bakers and candle stick makers. Musicians, technicians, seminar leaders, ground crews, bar flys. Possum skinners, Picture takers, memory makers.
A couple of exceptions:
Thanks again to our good friends Terry and Annie. As most of you know, they have the misfortune of living only 2 miles from us. Lots of preparation behind the scenes, they were invaluable.
Thanks Pat for the wonderful model Airstream rig that will grace the table at all the upcoming rally's. A real treasure.
Rebecca and Stan: We all thought Saturday night was a treat, but Sunday morning was incredible. Jon, Allyson, Lynn...lucky you and thanks for sharing your wealth.
The stats:
20 rigs from SC
14 from NC
9 from Georgia
3 from Fla
1- Illinois
1- New Jersey
1-Alabama
1-California
1-Pennsylvania
2- from Canada, making Alumalina an INTERNATIONAL RALLY!!!
53 rigs, 9 states and Canada, 110 fantastic people, 1,303 feet of Airstreams.
Give yourself a pat on the back for a job well done.
Don't forget to mark your calender for next March's rally. I can almost promise you the park will fill up, so make the reservation soon, worry about it later if your plans change.

Sandlapper (aka King Possum)
Thank you, Susan, Terry and Annie for a great rally at Lake Wateree State Park, SC. The weather was perfect for a great time to be had by all. It was good to see Rita again, I hope she made the trip home safe?
Anne and I have shared our rally weekend with our family and prospective AirStream owners. We have shown some of Lisa's and Chuck's photos to our friends showing the DO cooking, entertainment and fellowship of long distant friends talking about there experiences with their AirStream trailers. It is a very relaxing time to disconnect from our everyday busy life and schedules.
It was great to watch how experienced folks stopped and helped newbies with their concerns and problems learning to camp with their trailers (ie lighting the hot water heater).
We are looking forward to seeing our friends in the spring of 2015 if not before?
We hope everyone has a safe rest of 2014? See you down the road.

And Of Course...
...this wouldn't have happened without John and Susan's love of Airstreaming and their good old "southern hospitality". I can almost read John's mind: now how do we top this one...thanks again for a great weekend! We enjoyed our trip South and enjoyed a few more days at the beach...only to come home yesterday to SNOW! I'm ready to move to South Carolina...

Roadrunner,
Thank you for talking your wife Linda to come along for a great Alumalina rally. If you are the one who brought the good weather south, thank you. Linda I hope you had a good time during the rally. I know your had a great time going on the Hilton Head, what a great time of the year to visit HH.
Bob, John (Sandlapper) may have been thinking about putting on another batch of Rita mix because it went very well with everyone.
Bob we would all welcome you both to move to the sunny south. So you all, come on down!
Now about the snow, you guys can keep it north of the Mason-Dixon line until January. We try to have four seasons in the Carolinas.
Back to patrolling the my part of the forest in the Blue Ridge mountains. While flying around the foothills and mountains, I see that the good ole boys and busy at work since the had good corn crops this year. I guess that means we may have more Wilkes County creek water come spring time.
We hope everyone has a great week to come and remember the Big Hooter gives a HOOT.
