C'mon guys, he Lap-Jointed it, Those are Sand-Laped joints disguised as dove tails.

Ok, so much for that attempt at saw dust humor.

Truck is hooked up, trailer washed and almost all of the hard work done.

I couldn't stand it any longer.... I loaded most of the stuff last weekend, and it is indeed a truck load. Adding the last of it the next couple days.

Got Rita buckled in the co-pilot seat.

She said to tell everyone high.

Hi Rita!
We are all loaded, too, except for food. Bringing things for the swap table, the raffle, a token for Maggie and a surprise for Sandlapper, the host with the most!

Well I have secured the ingredients for my sophisticated artisan bread. I am happy to bring extra if other folks want to try their hand at baking in cast iron. The ingredients are just as difficult to find as they are to mix. Bring your dutch oven and share in the fun. I hope to shoot for a 4 stack this year. Looking forward to seeing everyone again soon.

Odds-n-ends

We hope to have some tables set up for different items of interest:

For Sale---anything you have to sell. Crafts, AS parts, anything.

Free to Good Home--too good to throw away, not good enough to keep.

Misc Info---Brochures, tech bulletins, AS related info.

The Tool Table---A sign up sheet for anyone that needs some maintenance help

We will need:

Push up tents
Drop cords
Portable tables
Single malt

Thursday nite hot dog banquet:

I have 150 premo hot dogs (donated), mustard, chili (Linda), 75 individual bags of chips(donated)

Need: buns, any condoms you like, deserts, anything you want to throw in there.

A recap

A bit of a plan
As always, we offer this schedule only so we may all be on the same page if something interests you. We have some good stuff planned, and want you to be aware of it in case some of it interests you.

REMEMBER.....NOTHING is required EXCEPT that you enjoy yourself. There is no pavilion, so all activities will take place at the tents in the open area in the center of the campground.

Come as early as you want, stay as long as you can. You will like it.

THURSDAY
6:00 or so..... For the early arrivals, our famous hot dog feast. We have 100 premo hot dogs, some of the fixins'. We will need some buns, slaw, onions, relish, anything you would like to throw in.

FRIDAY
5:00-6:00 .....Meet and greet. Come meet the neighbors, bring your choice of beverage.

6:00-7:00 ......Supper on us. We will have a big pot of our almost famous Possum Bog. It tastes just like chicken, and goes with anything you would like to bring, if you want to. You need not bring a thing, concentrate on getting to the park safely and settling in. If you do have something to share, make it easy on yourself.

7:00-until ......The official unofficial opening ceremonies. Possum parade, greasy possum contest, best possum impersonation, possum calling contest.

Also open mic. If you would, please introduce yourselves.

Campfire....enjoy a great Carolina evening with friends.

SATURDAY
8:30-9:30 .......Breakfast. Potluck, please bring your speciality to share. We will have the big coffee pot up and running. There will also be campfire and dutch oven cooking taking place, and some of Gary's cowboy coffee.

10:00-12:00........ Seminars. We have several things lined up, and will attempt to cram them all in the 2 hour slot.

POLISHING by Roadrunner Bob.... Getting a mirror shine

Getting the Most out of your Airstream...Take advantage of all your Airstream has to offer. Yours truly

Dutch Oven Cooking with Gary, Maggie, Jon...campfire cooking at its best.

Maintenance.....need a minor fix??

12:00-1:00 Lunch on your own

1:00-4:00 ........THE BEST PART
Open house....only if you want to. We will have a sign for you

Flea Market....buy, sell, trade, free to good home. A table will be set up.

Meet Rita.....she will be under our awning, site # 50. Drop by for a visit., she is very friendly and likes to have a good time.

Paroozing...enjoy the afternoon just hanging out. Where else can you go and hang out with a hundred Airstreamers, all who share the same passion you do, in a beautiful setting. Take full advantage of it.

DON'T FORGET, AIRSTREAM OF SC WILL HAVE A DISPLAY OF NEW AIRSTREAMS IN THE TACKLE SHOP PARKING LOT.

5:00-6:00 Potluck supper. Please bring a favorite dish to share. Anything is welcome...meats, veggies, breads, salads, deserts, anything.

6:30 until.....Door prizes. You do not have to contribute, everyone gets to participate regardless. If you have something to bring along to throw in, great. Homemade, store bought, Airstream related, bowling ball, nothing expensive. It is always fun.

We have commitments from Airstream Inc, Out of Doors Mart, and John's RV (Airstream of SC) for door prizes. Still working on a couple more. They typically send some really good stuff.

More campfire, enjoy another great Carolina evening with friends.

SUNDAY
8:30 Breakfast. It is go home day, so make it easy. Pastries, muffins, etc.

9:00 a brief worship service.

We will have a printed copy of the schedule for everyone, along with some other good stuff in your packet.

This is only an approximate schedule. We are not gonna split hairs over time. We want to encourage everyone to enjoy themselves at their own pace. We will try to stay fairly close so you can plan, if you want to.

Page,

Thanks for the offer to share a spot, but I am intentionally situated near friends so would't want to move.

Deb, sorry we will not get to meet this time around. Maybe in March.

Still wiliing to share my spot, tho, or provide parking for anyone who wants to drive in during the day.

Maggie, I was just throwing that out in the event there was anyone needing more space. We are where we are for a reason, too.
Looking forward to meeting and chatting about our "experiences".

Looks yummy, and I am interested to see your 4-stack.

I have never tried anything that complicated.

A cheap date

Many have contacted me asking how they could help. Thank you ALL for the offers. Just a couple more things to take care of and Rita and I will be ready to set sail in the Alumaliner on Thursday am. Susan comes Friday.

If you would like to do a little something for Rita, she is a cheap date. She loves cheap Tequila. She has no favorite brand, just cheap. She also likes it mixed with that green stuff. I try to tell her that if she would try the really good stuff she would not need that green stuff. She insists on the CHEAP stuff, and the green mix.

To her credit, she only parties twice a year so any that she has left over she saves until next time.

So friends, as always, nothing is required. Your presence at the rally is thanks enough for me and Rita.

But, if you would like to.........

Smile It's time to fly to Wateree State Park

Hello Sandlapper,

The Big Hooter here and back in the NC forest. The Mrs. and I are loading our mobile nest(aka 18ft AS) and will head south on Friday AM. I will bring some juice for Rita in case she gets thirsty?

I have had a busy summer and early fall gathering grade A possums for Friday night. Most of these are free range critters, not super fat but just right for Gary's pot.

We are looking forward to seeing all of our AS friends and will welcome the newby's to this exciting group of fellow airstreamers. I hope everyone is safe as they drive to Wateree State Park?

The long range weather forecast looks like early fall weather, cool and dry. It will be great to sit around the campfire and share stories from trips everyone has taken since we were last together in the spring.

See you down the road on Friday.

Remember we give a HOOT,

Big Hooter

It's Wednesday, and I like my Airstream because....

....we will be leaving early Thursday am, headed to Lake Wateree State Park and ALUMALINA.

Truck is packed, Rita is happy, weather looks favorable.

For those who have never been to LWSP, you will love the park. It does not have WIFI, nor does it have much cell phone service. It does have nice, mostly level ,paved sites, trees, and of course Lake Wateree. Limited supplies there, pack in what you need.

Great walking, biking, fishing, paddling. Beautiful sunrises over the lake.

So, after today I will be mostly off the grid. If you need anything, reach out today.

We are so excited to see our old friends and meet new ones. Everyone please travel safe, see you there.

John

Going to do the last of the laundry this am, and be at Wateree mid-day.

Can't help it....I'm early for everything.

Going to start some "Welcome!" bread today, to bake tomorrow.

See y'all there.

We have to work tomorrow, so we will be on the road first thing Friday morning. Going to stop at John's RV on the way up to look at a 2015 30' Flying Cloud. Going to be glad to get away from the rain soaked coast.
