Introducing Airstream of South Carolina.....

.....John's RV of Lexington, SC is now SC's exclusive Airstream dealer.

John's has been in the RV business for years and have recently become one of Airstream's newest dealers.

EVEN BIGGER NEWS.......

They are eager to support our rally and the Airstream community, and have agreed to bring a display of NEW Airstreams to Alumalina. Very likely in the large parking lot near the park office. A very short walk from the campground.

This is a big deal and we are glad to have them join us, it will add a lot to our rally. Please reach out to them, welcome them, and thank them. Email Chris Rawl@ JohnsRV.com.

We will post the details later.

John

Thanks Maggie. Turns out there were lots of folks in the southeast that were just waiting for a chance to gather, I happened to be the one to put out the call, and consider it an honor to host this thing.

I sure do enjoy myself.

That's true, I'm sure, but part of it's you, dear.

See you next month.

John, it looks like we will arrive straight from our trip up north, so unfortunately I do not expect to be able to bring tables or tents (or probably very much fire wood) this time, but we will be there! And we do have Thor with us, so all is not lost.

Gary,

You just never know who or what you may find in the metropolis York, SC! I was wonderin around there myself and thought that "wood guy" looked awful familiar! How nice of you to come up and see "Sandlapper"! He keeps all of us "tweaked and greased" and ready to go! See everyone soon at Wateree!

Are you saying that they will have a "full hookup" on some site? That would be handy. I thought the handicap site might be, but maybe not.

Sue and I are really, really looking forward to camping in September. We took the camper up to Hiawassee Friday evening just to discover that the A/C wouldn't work. (We came home Sat morning. Even in Hiawassee, 87 degrees is too hot to stay.) ODM says control board is only $123, but I also have to replace the thermostat ($115). I didn't try to reach Terry, I talked to Mark in parts. I will wait to see if I can troubleshoot more (maybe just a fuse on the control board?).

Thanks Brad, we will make do. Just glad you and Karen will be able to make it.

I'll put out the call for the tents, tables, balloons, party favors , winning lottery tickets, single malt, and firewood shortly.

Always something to deal with Phil..... if not one thing, ten others. Hopefully we are nearing the end of AC weather.

It would be nice to have a full hook up, especially at the handicap sites. There are plans in the making to add another loop to the park on the other side of the causeway, complete with sewer and 50a service.

There are only a few sites scattered out in the entire State Park system that have sewer hookups.

I saw on the news yesterday that the SC Park System is enjoying record revenues, self supporting 90% of its needs. A good thing. Many parks will be able to make upgrades , including Lake Wateree.

John

Last fall we camped in several Arkansas state parks that were new (Lake Fort Smith), recently renovated, or undergoing renovation. The campgrounds and facilities were very nice. Someone told us the people of the state voted a small sales tax increase a few years ago to be used to upgrade the park system. We was very impressed and we plan to go back.

I'd gladly support a similar tax increase and major renovation of the parks in NC. The Arkansas residents we talked to at the campgrounds were very proud of their state parks and their tax money being put to good use.

Update, my Mom continues to do well/hold her own with the Parkinsons (Thank GOD for Home Health Aids) Dad, is still strugggling with recovery from spring, he complaines of feeling "wobbly" and has fallen several times. He sleeps too much and I belive is depressed. We have an apointment today for results from last weeks tests, tommorow he gets an MRI. Hopefully the Doc can shed some light. So that being said, Dad wants to got to Maine (Acadia) so I have switched plans for Sept to be in Maine 14-21. And in case you missed me that much you will find me at Hunting Island Hiatus in Nov.. I hope all of you are well and will have a small possumn bog here your honnor. I will keep up on this thread to see the fun I'll miss. John
