Welcome Glampnjewels, Rick and Julie. Glad you are joining us for the first time.

We have a schedule of sorts, posted a page back on #287.

SOB.....airstream jargon for "Some Other Brand".

Gonna be fun.

Thanks John & Susan and Frank!

This will be our second rally and looking forward meeting everyone and camping at Wateree.

I'll also have a moisture meter (invasive and non-invasive) available if anyone's interested.

I presume that these are tools that are available during the Rally for "short-term" use (i.e. during the Rally).

"Dewalt Rotary Polisher and Cyclo Polisher", from RoadRunner,

I will bring a plug-in receptacle and GFI tester to be available for anyone who wants to verify correct receptacle wiring, and test GFI tripping.

This will also be an opportunity for some people to see what these are, and how to use them which may help them decide whether to buy one or not.

As I recall (since I have not done a thing to it yet), a couple well-positioned 3/4" holes allow socket access, and can be plugged with snap-in covers (like conduit box closures). I'll wait for the Rally for that (the door hasn't fallen off, and I've got my hands full on the A/C now).

Phil
sandlapper, who is my brother, had to do some work like that on my door hinges. He did a fine job for me!

Will do. It can help pinpoint even a very small leak. The fact that it sounds like a Geiger counter only makes it more fun.

Little by little, black turns to silver

Welcome Ed...Safari22

You found a great place to make your very first post. Glad you can join us.

BTW, your site is the one with the dogleg, tree in the middle, ditch running sideways in it. But you can do it!!

Nahhh, just kidding Ed . All the sites are good, and there will be plenty of help if you need it.

See you in a couple weeks. You'll be glad you came.

John

Wow! 48, John!

I'm going to just make a request for a tad bit of help during the rally, from someone with better tools and skills than I.

One of the attachments for the awning arms is torqued or something, not allowing the little metal piece to insert itself fully into the bracket piece that is attached at the Interstate. It basically won't hold the awning arm, if that makes any sense.

If someone could adjust this for me, I would be grateful.

So looking forward to this rally and seeing everyone.

Almost Ready

Maggie and everyone -

Looking forward to meeting you all after lurking and posting here for nearly a year. This will be our second rally and the first this far from home. Got the wheel bearings repacked and rear axle brakes refurbished. Working on a leak in the rear fantastic vent that I hope to finish this weekend. Got to get the gas bottles re-certified and filled nest week. That's pretty much the end of my list - Missy has to stock the pantry. And we'll keep our eyes open for possum or possum on the half shell on the way up.

For the tools list, I will have:
Torque multiplier/wrench to 300 lb.ft.
General tool set
OBDII Code Reader
Voltmeter
Maybe more, if I can stand the weight
Orbital polisher, pads, and fine compounds
???

Al

Jonathan,

I think I have a challenge for your snake camera thingy. Too hard to explain but hopefully it can prevent me from moving the fridge.

What kind of tools do you think we might need? I am coming up with a Freightliner service body truck. weight is no problem. Ladder, extension cords,Fine saw, hammer 1/2 in drill, built in compressor to 125 psi,Snap on engine scanner newly updated, work table, etc. If you think we need something just post and I will see if I have and can bring.

Y'all are very generous with your time and your tools. Such good folks.

Be careful that you leave yourselves time to socialize and imbibe in your beverage of choice.

Doug and I had two bottles of Proseco stowed for the rally in March, which I re-stowed for this one.....along with the frozen raspberries it is to be poured over. I had found this recipe...... It will be made to share with any that are interested.

I have to tell you I am getting a bit teary, thinking about this, so bear with me when the time comes. Don't know how it will all affect me, really. I am doing pretty well, these days, but still have moments that just grab me.

I am thinking that anyone who wants to do a group bread-baking, mid-to-late Saturday am would be a good time. Breakfast will be cleared away, and we will probably have eaten enough that lunch will be unnecessary or delayed. Want to free everyone for open house and all.

Thoughts? This would mean starting the dough sometime Friday afternoon.

Be sure all who want to DO have some kind of protective surface to cook on. We kept the base to one of those round, disposable grills, which works beautifully. Line with aluminum foil, gather up when cooled and throw away.

Don't know what Gary and other DO'ers are planning on cooking, and I won't know til time gets closer and I know what kind of weather we will have. Suspect there will be many cooks, doing various things, who can be observed and learned from by all of us.

This may not be a doable request, but....

We bought this hitch cover last year, which I love. I came down one of those weird, inclining, exit ramps from a gas station or something the other day, and this hit the pavement.

It isn't broken, but the lower part is bent up and separated a bit at the center. I pushed it back down, as best I could, but was not strong enough to get it back in place.

I had thought I might see a welding shop at some point, and see what they could do with it.

If it is still askew when we get to the rally, maybe someone can help with that, as well.

Thank you in advance.
