Airstream Group in Minnesota ( or close to)

Hello, We are new to the Travel/ camping world and are interested in any A/S travel groups in or around our area. Our home is in Bloomington MN. We have a 90 345 and I do beleive I have it back up to specs so we can take it out on a trip now. We are going out to the Black Hills area on the 28th of May for 4 days and that will be the first trip for us. I am a retired coast to coast truck owner/operator and I'm fealing the need for the road but as with our car clubs we belong to, 51 Mercury and 69 Bug, we travel very offten with a group and we have a great time and we are hoping to do the same with the A/S. Any information on the A/S travel groups would be great. Tom & Janet

One of the great benefits of Airstream ownership (IMHO) is the opportunity to belong to one of the oldest (if not the oldest) single-marque travel clubs - - the Wally Byam Caravan Club International (WBCCI). One of my first projects after acquiring my '64 Airstream Overlander International in 1995 was to join the WBCCI. It was a step that I have never regretted as in the intervening years, I have participated in a number of local, regional, and international rallys as well as a number of caravans. There is at least one local unit of the WBCCI in each state - - the activities at the unit level vary considerably from one unit to the next, so if the first unit you try doesn't appeal then there are others (there is no rule that requires you to belong to any local unit as there is "Member at Large", and/or you can choose to belong to a unit in another state - - I live in Illinois but belong to the Wisconsin Unit). You can learn more about the WBCCI at their website.

Good luck with your maident voyage in your coach!

Kevin
