2003 Florida State Rally

Are any of you planning on attending the Sarasota Rally? We will be going as our unit works the rally.

The rally dates are 2/19-2/23

Come join us for fun! You do need to be a WBCCI Member to attend.

Unfortunately they are strict on the rule. If this was considered a "Buddy Rally" it could happen.

This is one of those things that make it worth the $ for membership. The flea market is worth the trip and the membership fee.

Hello fellow Airstreamers
I hope that many of you will be attending the Sarasota rally next week. This will be my third rally at Sarasota. In several ways, I consider it to be better than the rally last June at Rapid City.
I'll check with Brett and Edie, and perhaps we could post a notice on the bulletin board, and have a gathering of AirstreamForums members. A good time might be after the afternoon meetings, but before the evening sessions.
Hope you will attend.

I met Jerry Honaker at the Florida Fair Grounds in January and he asked if we were going to the rally? I contacted him on Feb 7 about the dates for the rally and he sent the dates to us. At the fair in january he said we did not have to be members WBCII to attend the rally.

What gives?

I stand corrected.

This is from our unit corresponding Secretary

"Yes, I do believe they are able to come to the FL State Rally. They do have
to have an Airstream product. They will come in as quests in hopes that they
will want to join the club and they certainly can get all the info they need
to join once they are there. I don't think they need to be WBCCI members to
attend. Just register and pay the fee when they get there."

The rally was GREAT!. Weather was fine, but saturday was hot and windy. I am glad I was parked away from the dust.

Had a chance to view the Vintage open house and saw people that have the disease as bad as I do.

There were a few Bambi's, Globetrotter's and even a 13 segment clipper on display.

The on site dealer display/sales area was the biggest in recent history. I had a chance to walk through the entire Airstream line
including a Skydeck and the new 28 ft CCD (second one off the line) It was really cool. Of course I have no way to tow it or I might have been tempted.

The biggest news I heard was the conformation of the rumor that the classic motorhome is being brought back (I asked the Pres. of Airstream at our unit happy hour). He said they have a target date on a prototype of 2005. He offered no details on it other than it will be Aluminum.

I met one other forum member that really gets around at the rally, was anyone else there?
