Question Front Window Cover

Hi! I am looking for any information on a cover for the front windows of my newly purchased 1977 Argosy 24' trailer. The curved windows in the front are original and in excellent shape. Living and driving in Montana is hard on windows. Would almost bet that I get a chip, crack or broken window the first time out this summer.....they sand the roads with gravel!!!. I am looking for the awning type that I think is made with an aluminum frame that lowers over the windows when towing and raises up when camped. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks - Carol

rock guard thread

Carol-

There is a thread called "Rock Guard Replacement" that should be helpful. The search function at the top of the page should lead you right to it.

What you are looking for is commonly referred to as a rock guard, and assuming that your Argosy 24 is not an early Argosy Minuet 7.3 Metre, your coach will need the same three-piece rock guard utilized by the pre-wide-body Airstreams. Any Airstream dealer or Airstream Service Center should be able to order one for you. If your coach happens to be a Minuet 7.3 Metre, the same part will be needed, only the center section will need to be narrowed by about 8" to reflect the reduction of width found in the Minuets (the Minuets have a floor width of 7' while the Argosy standard series coaches have a floor width of 7' 8"). The rock guard was one of my first additions after purchasing my Minuet about three years ago.

Good luck with your coach!

Kevin

Thanks to Overlander64 and 63GT! I will check the thread suggested and get in touch with my nearest Airstream dealer. I wasn't sure if the rock guard was something from Airstream or an after-market. Thanks again for such a speedy reply. I can't wait for the snow to melt and get this project "on the road". Carol
