Enkay style stone guards opinions please.

I'm wondering if the solid style stone/mud guards effect fuel economy compaired to the brush design. I haven't made a purchase yet, just curious. Or maybe I'm just over thinking.... Thanks....Steve

I've got them and I have not noticed any change mpg's. The under side of my truck is already creating plenty of drag!

I haven't kept done a long term study, but from running about a week without the trailer I think I lost about 1 mpg.

Would it be the same with the trailer? Don't know.

I have not towed much with out them, but on the one trip I did take with out them, mileage was about the same.

I only have them on when we are on a trip, as the truck won't fit in the garage with the hitch head and rock tamers on.

Steve....I have the Enkay Rock Tammers on my GMC and have never been concerned about fuel economy. The reason I installed them on my truck was to protect my trailer and they have worked. I don't think the "brush design" mud guards will offer you the same protection that the solid rubber Enkay's will provide.

I have Enkays on my vehicle when I tow and think they are great for protecting my trailer. I drive a Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 , effect on mileage isn't even a consideration because fuel economy is not a term I am familiar with.
