DIY 3 piece window guard

Here is what I have been working on....

I used 1/2" EMT conduit for the frame. It was bent using my anvil/PVC pipe/T-shirt improvised tubing bender. I have rigid foam for the center and am considering using Formica for the skins (front and back). I was given 60 sq. feet of bamboo blue xanadoo so cost will be zero! I am not too worried about moisture on the Formica because I live in Texas where it never rains and I will only have it on the camper when we travel.

My other option is canvas. That will actually cost something! So far, I only have about $10 invested.

Sorry the pic is upside down. When you open it, it turns over.....weird.

I don't think the Formica will withstand a rock. I would go with the canvas or a fiberglass material.

Looks like the ones I made. I used the pebble grained fiberglass sheet that is used in public bathroom walls to cover mine. http://www.airforums.com/forums/f227...ds-105764.html

I used your design as an inspiration. Here they are installed. I went ahead and used cloth with rigid foam.

I don't know why my thumbnails are messed up, but if you click on them they open correctly.

Onawayman, your iPhone or iPad image files have camera orientation data that is unique to Apple. This confuses almost all non-Apple software when it comes to orientation. Hold your device vertical (camera at the top); rotate it 90° counterclockwise (horizontal, with the 3 o'clock position up) and then snap the picture. Only iDevice pics taken in this position will display correctly.
