Any information on wheel skirts?
Hello,
I have noticed that my 2001 has button snaps on the surrounding wheel areas. Did these units come with skirts that match the awning material or did the PO install these? Are they available through airstream?
Thanks Vinnie

You can get them from Zip-Dee, or any Zip-Dee dealer.

Zip Dee has wheel well covers that can match the awning colors if you wish.
If you have a Zip Dee awning, then chances are the PO had Zip Dee wheel well covers, too.
Identifying the awning color that you have is an easy process.
Do you have a Zip Dee awning?

Cheap wheel covers can be made using the aluminum covered bubble material. Get a gromet making tool at harbor freight comes with gromets. Cut two pieces that go up into the wheel well and to the ground to just around the wheel tread. Fold the edges and put one or two gromets. get some bungie cord with hooks and put it over the back of the wheel and you have a cover that looks like an airstream. Blocks light, wind and it lasts for years.

Before you order new ones, be sure to carefully search all possible hiding (storage) places. You may discover that they are just tucked away - after all, what good are they without the trailer. The armrest area is where I found mine.

The cheapest way to go is to use tarps and attach bungee cords to them!

Oh, well - I always go for the free solution first.
The camping world covers are not especially cheap, but they look nice and are easy to use.
But - since you have the snaps, you could fab some covers as was suggested above, and you'd be dressy as heck.

I have looked in most nooks and crannys in our Airstream But Have not found them. I will keep looking until I have covered all the bases. Thanks for the ideas. I have in the meantime purchased From Harbor Freight for $9, what appears to be white burlap with a wire thru one side in the shape of the wheel, it snaps on the backside of the tire and that's what holds them on. Works so far.

Please see my new post if your AS has a tubular “awning” channel installed above the exterior wheel well!
