Unhappy 2004 International CCD Rock Shield

My trailer was hit by another vehicle, and the rock shield was damaged on the drivers side.

Where can I buy a new one and how much might such a thing cost?

I live in Stone Mountain, GA, but the dealer here said they do not sell parts. They said to try Birmingham. I emailed them, since I didn't get an answer on the phone and I thought I would try this method as well.

Thanks for any help.

Andy,

Contact the factory, they surely could put you in touch with someplace that can get you the part, if not the factory directly.

Thanks Eric.

I checked out the site but it is not good for parts. I emailed the customer support area and I will see what they have to say back.

Call Airstream. Ask for Jim Parrett. He was terrifically helpful to me when I had the 2003 International AS which had the same assembly. he will surely get you in touch with a parts source.

Thanks

Thanks JP,

I went back to the web site and found the 03 pages. I had searched for 04 parts.

Wow, it is amazing how many little pices there are. I wonder if anyone ever added up what it would cost to buy every individual piece to make a trailer. I don't think I want to know!

Thanks again, Andy

P.S.
When I find the part and buy it, I will post how, where and the cost for future inquirers.

Hurricane Damage...and I need advice. We were fortunate with minor damage.....a large limb fell on the front top edge of our 25CDD (Above right corner from the entrance door). The damage was limited to a DENT about 15 inches accross...but fortunately located entirely between rivets. The dent appears to have no hard edges, but is depressed by at least 3 inches at the deepest part.

No interior damage is noted, and we're not getting any leaks.

What is the best way to remove the dent. I would like to do myself, as we're a long way from a dealer.

We're insured, but the deductable is large and not likely to come into play.

Unfortunately the Aluminum stretched when it dented. This means that all you would be able to do is minimize the dent. To fix it would require the segment get replaced. The closest repair shop I would trust to work on mine is Walt's in Ocala. Not close, but too far. He is a long time Airstream service center. 352-237-6813

If you can explain to him over the phone which panel it is, he can give you a ballpark $$ cost, thereby letting you know if insurance would come into play.

I will try to get an estimate from Bates, but will consider going to Ocala. I have decided to replace. But, when I called Bates, they indicated a 3-5 month wait to get service due to the number of damaged RV

It's my understanding that the factory proceedure is to simply install a new sheet of alum over the damaged section in cases like this. I could be wrong, but again, the factory would be the best place to ask that question to confirm.
