White powdery stuff that looks like bird poop
Hey all! Didn't really notice it, I just figured it was a 'present' from the birds at the storage facility I use. It appears to be running down the seam of 2 panels on the back of the Airstream, just wondering if it is indeed what I thought it was, or is it something more nefarious?

I have not witnessed it myself, but have read on the forum, that if you don't wax the white roof often enough, the paint will oxide. The oxidation will the run down the sides with heavy dew or rain, etc.

Bingo Cloudsplitter. The white streak (in your pic in the mentioned thread)are exactly what's going on with mine. Now, how do I fix it, or should I bring it to a dealer?

The streaks are caused by the oxidation of the white roof coating, "normal" by AS standards. Comes off easily.
Just keep the skin clean and sealed,(waxed).

Of course there is any easy way to tell if it is one or the other. Wet the tip of your finger, dip it into the "white powder" and then taste it. IF it does taste like a bird deposit (you will definitely know), then that's what it is . If that is the case go immediately into the bathroom and wash your mouth out with mouth wash

Thanks all! Waxing is already on my todo list for springtime, will do it as soon as possible. As for the taste test, no thanks!

Very good course of action.
Years ago when my kids were young, I found a puddle on the kitchen counter. I was sure one of them had spilled apple juice. But, to be 100% sure I did the finger taste test.
It turned out to be essence de feline.
If I ever tell you that something tastes like cat piss, I know what I am talking about.
Regards,
Ken
