We're leaving our Airstream "family"

We`re abandoning the travel trailer lifestyle, many thanks to all of you that were so helpful and knowledgeable in assisting us...of all the forums in the RV lifestyle ( and there are many ) yours` was by far the most professional and proficient.

Many Thanks and warmest regards

You may be letting your RV go but you're still welcome here.

Can we ask why?

Did you switch out the travel trailer lifestyle for the motorhome lifestyle or give it up all together?

I think i would miss my airstream too much to let her go..

Wishing you many warm sunsets..

Vinnie

We are pretty new to Aisrstream, and to this forum, so I don't know your background. Judging from the year of your trailer, I'm assuming, maybe wrongly, that you are fairly new to RV'ing, or at least to Airstreams.

What happened? Just not for you, or did you switch to another type RV and if so I'd be interested to know your reasoning - if you'd care to share of course!

Good luck in your future adventures!

Brian.

No, we`re not giving up RVing, just moving back in a motorhome....it`s what we`ve done for 25+ years and it`s what we`re used to...thought pulling a trailer would be fun, but we`re used to boondocking and using the motorhome for exploring.
Having said that, the Airstream was a joy to pull so if one is going to try that mode of RVing, might as well try the best, right?

My family still greives the loss of our motorhome (not me hee hee) because the girls can use the bathroom while we travel, bust into all the food and drinks and watch movies.. So what i say to them.. thats not so great?!

Well suffice to say, my wife gave in and let me get the airstream but I get to hear about it each time we travel.. worst part? The motorhome hasnt sold yet and its still in our backyard!

Enjoy the boondocking and exploring and we will catch you out on the road...

Vinnie

We boondock out in the desert all year long. If you see an Airstream with a license plate of TIN CABN. Come on over.

We have had both and enjoyed both but I like the travel trailer style a little more. Don't get me wrong, the motorhome was great but a real pain in the kester to park in downtown Metropolis when there is something to check out there. Boondocking is mostly what interests me and I mean out in the sticks. Mostly 4X4 country and then exploring the area in the truck and the trailer works for me.

Best wishes to you and good luck.

Motor homes are awesome. My friend has a huge one with two slide outs, but when they break watch out for the parts and service bill. My friends just had engine problems and it cost him $3500 to get it fixed. Last year he had dashboard airconditioning problems and it was $1500 to get it fixed. The tires on those things cost a bunch. Out of my price range and I have been able to fix my airstream by myself so far. If I was a engine mechanic I probably would own a motorhome.
