I'm trying to replace the nearly universal CH751 locks on my AS and I've run aground with the rear driver side and rear access hatches. These hatches have their cam locks integrated into the door handles and the locks themselves appear to be specially built for these handles.
I'd like to change these to tube key locks if possible. I disassembled one of the locking handles and now cannot get it back together.
At the back of the lock cylinder is a spring loaded nub that catches on a ledge inside. This is preventing me from getting the cylinder back into the handle. There is no room in which I can force a wire or anything to hold the nub in while I reinsert the lock into the handle.
So, my questions are:
1 - Can the lock(s) be changed out?
2 - If not, can a locksmith rekey them?
3 - Is there any place where I can source these parts?
