Wheel Clear Coat

My 2007 Safari SE/LS wheels are losing the clear coat on the finish. Anybody else have this issue and what have you done about it?

Mine are also looking pretty funky. I was considering bead blasting and reclear coat.

At the Chevy store we had a vendor that would re-finish alloy wheels in house, on the vehicle.
They looked good as new and we were authorized by GM to use them for warranty repairs.(they did remove for them when doing warrantee)

Click on the video link.

Do the google in your area 'mobile wheel refinishing'....worth a try.

I recently had a tire blow-out on the TV. It messed up the fender, bed, & wheel. Our local body shop had the wheel refinished, impressive, good as new. Since it was a part of 'insurance' damage I only paid the deductible, the wheel refinishing cost is not clear pun intended.

My replacement Sendel 16's are 3 years old and are showing sings of crazing not unlike my Airstream (Bought from A/S @ JC w/Michelins).

I need to check with the shop & see if I can get a price or a vendor name (unlikely) that does this. I'll post what I find out.

The original wheels on my 1978 have lost the clear coat. I took paint remover and finished it off. Once the clear coat was off I started polishing them with metal polish. Shines like new money. Did the same with my propane tanks last summer.

Use Google and check a company named Keystone. They do wheels for body shops and may be available nationwide. I've seen their work an it's top shelf so check their prices and if close enough to be in your area for pick-up they might be a good option.
